The Summer of '21 is going to be GREAT! We can welcome old and new friends to the place
The Canadian government is slowly moving to open the border, so we encourage you to obtain your work/travel visa that will make you eligible to enter the country. That along with being fully vaccinated will greatly increase your likelihood of being allowed to visit us.
We have some travel information that we can share with workawayers who wish to join us here in Saskatchewan.
By managing natural resources in an environmentally sustainable manner we provide for the needs of our family so that we have an opportunity to help others in the larger community.
We enjoy hosting volunteers from around the world and across the country, showing them rural Western Canadian hospitality and culture. We are a family owned and operated beef ranch and equestrian centre. Our volunteers can help with our cow herd, horse training and general ranch maintenance in the ranching aspect of our venture. Volunteer help from our international visitors and local enthusiasts is always appreciated with our equine educational experiences.

We hope that we can offer you some unique experiences and opportunities to learn about Western Canadian culture and hospitality. We try to make sure that our volunteers get to do fun things nearly every day (something they enjoy--like riding, hiking, sky watching, photography), frequently while we are doing our everyday chores. We are also glad to help with English as a second language.
Those who volunteer with us help with many of the ranch chores as well as around the house. Volunteers help with feeding and caring for the animals in the yard, herding cattle, training horses, gardening, berry picking, painting, building and repairing fences and ranch buildings, cooking, baking, house cleaning and yard maintenance. We have experience with several European students doing internships. We do require a certain level of English competency from our helpers for their own safety. If you are learning about animals AND the English language at the same time, you can misunderstand our warning about an animal and find yourself in grave danger.

We accommodate our volunteers in the house year round and in the bunkhouse from April-October. We have 3 cats and in the winter a cattle dog in the house. Animals are not usually allowed in the bunk house. Wireless internet in the house, no TV, but the neighbour (just across the yard) will allow you to watch with him.
Please contact us for our website!
Until 2018 our volunteers/helpers received a thank you card when they departed the ranch and if they were interested in finding employment I would agree to supplying a reference letter. When it came to my attention that Workaway was providing a very complete reference letter for Workawayers, with feedback from the different hosts, I immediately began providing a reference in this manner. Hence the sudden appearance of feedback for Workawayers in 2018 ;>)

We have had some visitors who did on-line work and they had no difficulty with our internet connection.
I understand that workawayers like to have their own wheels, and sleeping in their own accommodation is just fine with me. We will provide meals, washing facilities, shower facilities and wI-fi.
Dogs that come to Winning Ways must be tied or under supervision at all times. Once we can be absolutely sure they will not disturb the resident animals they may be allowed to roam more freely.
