We here at the Bukit (Malay for ‘Hill’) extend our warmest welcome to travelers from far and wide.
Our objective is to host an immersive experience into the life style of a father-son duo who have flocked the concrete jungle- hoping to find something meaningful outside the typical and mundane urban lifestyle in Kuala Lumpur. Relocating to the historical town of Jitra, our city-minds were blown away by the natural abundance the geography of the area had to provide.
We aim to share this abundance, an abundance that goes beyond the average expectations, with anyone who can benefit from it. While we enterprise our ideas we hope to bring these people, travellers like yourselves included, along for the journey.
You reading this obviously long for things beyond the average expectations. Isn’t that why you travel?
Ivan, the father of this dynamic duo, moved here 4 years ago. He loves the local traditions, crafts and customs- particularly those passed down by local elders. It is his passion and mission to preserve these for generations to come.
Ariputra, the son, moved by the rich history and the experience of a Kampung (rural/village) lifestyle decided to settle down here after growing up in the city.
We are but humble men. We laugh, we love and we especially live for enriching experiences.
Which is why, after learning to be hosts for 9 months and to over 50 Workawayers, we will be frank with our proposition 😎
We are looking for long stayers, with homely souls and warm hearts.
We want our home, yours too should you be staying here, to be as comfortable and as tidy as a home should be. We need an extra pair of hands to help us keep our abode in order, tend to our plants (we have vegetables and fruits growing) and sometimes help us on our excursions.
We are only able to host a maximum of 2 people and you will be well taken care of.
If you are keen on giving your energy, staying here a long while and helping us in the hillsides of Kedah, Malaysia- send us a message! ☺️
We as host in Asia have our traditions and values that may not be widely known across the world. It is extremely important for us and the locals that Workawayer who come here keep an open mind to respect and cherish our Asian ways.
As a ‘get to know you’ process, any interested Workawayer must have a video call, with us, your host.
We will discuss any further details on your time with us during our call 😇Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Apart from adapting to the wonderful year-round weather on the equator, you will have host who are passionate in all forms learning and sharing. Kedah is an old part of South East Asia and a huge reason we moved back here is to learn and expose these long-lost stories of the past.
The nature of living in the Kampung (rural/village) is dynamic and you will find unorthodox wisdom in being an active observer of the things we do here. Hopefully it sparks a natural curiosity towards you discovering more about yourself too.
An outgoing personality is desirable, as we also spend our time with people outside of our everyday routine. Should you be with us we will ensure that you are embraced as one of our own.
Hopefully, by the time you go, we would have brought up the feeling that you could check out anytime you want, but you will never leave.Ayuda
As stated, we are looking for long stayers.
If you are able to pick up a broom and use it as well as have the love for putting such skills to keeping a home clean, that’s great! Green fingers are also welcome as we have 1 acre of land that we are using as a stepping stone for land cultivation.
We have bananas, watermelons, pumpkins, figs, sweet potatoes and many chili bushes. We also have many herbs growing on our land and we too, as people who live on the land, are learning their names and properties. They all need people who can show them some TLC (tender, love and care).
Our excursions are usually physically and mentally demanding. When they do happen, which at this point is sparse, they hopefully will leave you with memories that last.
As stated, an outgoing personality is desirable as you will also interact with people other than us, your hosts. It brings out the unique opportunity for you and the locals to interact and exchange cultures.
Ariputra, the son, is currently packaging raw honey into a product that is made available as a natural remedy. You might find yourself helping him get this product into the attention of the locals whether it’s witnessing a sale or featuring it online.
In summary, you will find yourselves tasked with a wide range of responsibilities, fit for creating a routine and immersing into our way of life. We only hope that in all ventures we embark on, we do it in excellence.Idiomas hablados
