We are a small, private, growing farmstead in the Cariboo area of British Columbia. We have chickens,
ducks, sheep, rabbits. Gardens. May, June and July are baby times, as in baby chicks, lambs. Its a great place to learn about animal husbandry. We are still adding to our small farmstead by, hopefully,
Introducing mini cows and horses and possibly alpacas in the future. Nothing we produce is sold. Five minute walk from the lake. Quads, rowboat, runabout available if experienced. Prefer someone with their own camper van or camper etc but have limited accommodation if needed, however the cabin requires a bit of work to live in, not much, more cosmetic.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Go hunting or fishing, in season. Learn about raising your own meat, eggs, vegetables and so on. Learn how to mill your own logs into lumber, build sheds, dog houses etc. Preparing gardens and greenhouse for spring planting. Preserving foods by smoking, canning and drying.
Ayuda
Help would include everything mentioned above plus whatever may be required to keep the farm, garden/greenhouse and animals and so on running smoothly. Also firewood collection, garden, greenhouse cleanup and readying for next spring, guest cabin cleanup and renovation among other building projects. We have a working wood mill so mill and use our own logs. These will differ depending on the season. If you have carpentry, gardening, and, or mechanical skills that would be fabulous!
PLEASE NOTE: there is often heavy work involved including packing bags of feed, chopping trees/wood, building fences or shelters, tearing down etc. Plus mucking out chicken coops and moving dirt, clearing brush, and so on. So you need to be healthy and in reasonably good shape.Idiomas

We have a small camperette for use mostly just for sleeping, until we can get the guest cabin up and running, with your help. We would provide food for breakfasts, brunches and prepare dinner in the house. Specialty foods and alcohol would be your responsibility. Although we could accommodate a vegetarian, we are meat eaters and meals generally include meat, either from our own or a local farm or from hunting or fishing. We could accept singles or couples and possibly a small family. We would prefer someone who has their own traveling accommodations such as camper van, camper or even tenting but can accommodate for a bit till the cabin is up and running
( which won't take much). We have some lovely spots available for privacy. And 2 outhouses and a full bathroom and hot tub. We do value our privacy so would encourage you to go for after dinner walks or read or whatever in your accommodations after dinner unless we are doing something special. There is a lake within 5 minutes walk from the property and a boat available for fishing.Algo más...
This is a private farmstead, not a business. There is lots to do if you are an avid hiker, biker, climber or just want to sight see. As mentioned before, there is a lake within 5 minutes walking distance for fishing (boat available) and even a small beach about ½ a kilometer away for swimming. In 100 mile house, which is an hour away, there are shops and restaurants and pubs to explore. A farmer's market each Friday during summer months and crafters marketas well. If you want a bigger town, Kamloops is 2 hours away one way and williams lake is 2 hours away the other way. We live simply at our farm going to town mostly just once a week, we have internet so you can stay in touch. We are in a small community that is friendly but mostly keeps to themselves.
