Dear Work- and Traveller, we - Horst, Mareike and Leo (son, 19) - are a patchwork family who have emigrated to Denmark (including 4 girls and 2 boys, 5 of whom have already made their own way in the world). We have a small farm on the Danish island of Bornholm with Icelandic horses, sheep, dogs, chickens, ducks, gooses and cats. We look after our animals on 4.2 hectares and have a large garden for our own use. We have a lot of different jobs to do. We welcome help in the garden, with the maintenance and care of our farm, painting the wooden houses, chopping wood for the winter and looking after the animals. You are welcome to join us on help days for meals. And if you enjoy cooking, that would also be great support for us!
You will be accommodated in a separate flat above the stables. You will have a bathroom and a kitchen at your disposal, which you will keep clean.
Do you fancy nature and country life on the beautiful sunny island of Bornholm? We live one kilometre from the sea (beach). We are looking for someone who can help with the various tasks on our farm (approx. 5 hours a day, purely for our private self-catering farm). If you are an independent, hands-on, friendly, fun person (or two, willing to share a room) who loves the quiet life in the middle of nature and with the animals, you are very welcome! We expect you to be seriously committed! We start at 7am on working days and you have two days a week at your own disposal.
Lieber Work- and Traveller, wir - Horst, Mareike und Leo (Sohn, 17) - sind eine nach Dänemark ausgewanderte Patchworkfamilie (zu der insgesamt 4 Mädchen und 2 Jungs gehören, von denen 5 bereits ihren eigenen Weg in die Welt beschritten haben). Wir haben einen kleinen Hof auf der dänischen Insel Bornholm mit Isländerpferden, Schafen, Hunden, Hühnern, Enten und Katzen. Auf 4,2 ha. versorgen wir unsere Tiere und haben einen großen Garten zur Eigenversorgung. Bei uns fallen eine Menge unterschiedlicher Arbeiten an. Wir freuen uns über Hilfe im Garten, bei der Instandhaltung und Pflege unseres Hofes, Streichen der Holzhäuser, Holz für den Winter hacken, Versorgung der Tiere. Gerne bist du an den Arbeitstagen bei Malzeiten mit dabei. Und wenn du Freude am Kochen hast, wäre das auch eine großartige Unterstützung für uns!
Du bist bei uns in einer separaten Wohnung åber dem Stall untergebracht. Dir steht dort ein Badezimmer und eine Küche zur Verfügung, die von dir saubergehalten werden.
Hast du Lust auf Natur und Landleben auf der wunderschönen sonnigen Insel Bornholm? Wir leben einen Kilometer vom Meer (Strand) entfernt. Wir wünschen uns jemanden, der mit zupackt bei den vielfältigen Arbeiten auf unserem Hof (ca. 5 Stunden am Tag, rein für unseren privaten Selbstversorgerhof). Wenn du ein selbständig arbeitender, zupackender, freundlicher, lustiger Mensch bist (oder auch zwei, bereit sich ein Zimmer zu teilen), der das ruhige Leben mitten in der Natur und mit den Tieren liebt, bist du herzlich willkommen! Wir erwarten, dass du dich ernsthaft engagierst! Wir starten an den Arbeitstagen morgens um 7 Uhr, zwei Tage in der Woche hast du zu deiner eigenen Verfügung.

We emigrated to Bornholm from Germany. Bornholmers are friendly and open. Bornholm has a lot of handicrafts and it is exciting to visit the many small and large galleries. In summer there are many tourists, especially from Germany and Sweden. Then there are also many markets, festivals and opportunities to talk to people.
Wir sind aus Deutschland nach Bornholm ausgewandert. Die Bornholmer sind freundlich und offen. Bornholm hat viel Kunsthandwerk und es ist spannend, die vielen kleinen und großen Galerien zu besuchen. Im Sommer gibt es viele Touristen, insbesondere aus Deutschland und Schweden. Dann gibt es hier auch viele Märkte, Feste und Möglichkeiten mit Menschen ins Gespräch zu kommen.

You or you sleep above the horse stable in what used to be a hay store. Years ago we converted the room into a cosy, bright, large attic room. You will have a bathroom and a kitchen at your disposal, which you will keep clean.
Du oder ihr schlaft oberhalb des Pferdestalls quasi im ehemalige Heulager. Wir haben den Raum vor Jahren in ein gemütliches, helles, großes Dachzimmer ausgebaut. Dir steht dort ein Badezimmer und eine Küche zur Verfügung, die von dir saubergehalten werden.

The center of the island of Rønne is about 4 km from our farm. On Bornholm there are wonderful cycling and walking routes along the coast. Beautiful hiking areas also in the interior of the island with old stone forests. The nice villages invite you to stroll, there are many markets and artisans. We have two bycikles for our workaways.
Das Zentrum der Insel Rønne liegt etwa 4 km von unserem Hof entfernt. Auf Bornholm gibt es wundervolle Rad- und Wanderwege entlang der Küste. Schöne Wandergebiete auch im inneren der Insel mit alten Steinwäldern. Die netten Ortschaften laden zum Bummeln ein, es gibt hier viele Märkte und Kunsthandwerker. Wir haben zwei Fahrräder für unsere Workaways.

I really appreciated the freedom that was given for example when to start working in the morning. I always chose to start between 8 and 9. Except on the weekends when we all worked together, we usually started a bit later so you can always have a bit of a sleep in :-).
