We are a Dutch family in Richmond ( London) . I need more help with some logistics and home chores like cooking during the week and some help in light household choirs like laundry folding, ironing ( not much) and logistics. The children are 12 ( f), 15 (m) and 16(f).

Dutch family in London ( Richmond) would be a pro if you could speak French to out children as they are learning this as a 3rd language. we are fluent in Dutch and English
cooking during the week ( hello fresh for example), folding laundry, tidying the kitchen, ( not cleaning the house), running some errands sometimes like dry cleaners.
free during school time and weekends ( although very occasionally there might be an outing where we would be away for a bit;). nothing much in the weekends

we have a room with its own separate entrance and a shower/ sink, bed and cupboard, table/desk, internet
Shared toilet is just outside the room downstairs and the kitchen is shared. We have a conservatory with some small gym options and a garden.
Our rooms and showers are all upstairs so enough privacy
you can join us for dinner or eat separately
we live very close to Richmond park where the deer room free and there is lots of outdoor options. and close to London with tube and train ( 25-30 minutes)

I was greeted at the… read more door with friendly smiles, and shown to my room, which had plenty of space storage, private shower, your own entrance to outside and even a little sunroom. ☀️
The shared toilet is just outside the bedroom door in the hallway.
It was such a pleasure to get to know this wonderful Dutch family.
I thoroughly enjoyed finding delicious recipes & cooking meals and a few sweet treats now and then. I LOVE TO COOK/ BAKE👩🍳
Laundry, is that not too difficult a couple times a week.
There is plenty of time to grab the bus just a short walk away or even the train a 15 minute walk away. There are endless possibilities of things to see and do.
I LOVED the War Museum and wished I had planned more time there.
Buckingham Palace and Changing of the Guards was nice to see however, even in winter on a Monday the crowd was enormous! I would highly suggest getting there an hour before.
The Lion King musical at The Lyceum Theater was OUTSTANDING!!
The nightlife in London is buzzing with excitement!
If you ever think you want to stay in London, you will not be disappointed staying with this family! I enjoyed the conversations and laughter over supper & learning new card games with the girls.
I rode a bike several times around town & Richmond Park which is beautiful & even enjoyed some tea at Pembroke Lodge (you really should go see it) with a lady I met in the park.
Nanne, I miss our long conversations and certainly enjoyed your company. 🤗
Alix, I was happy to see you love baking as much as I do. It was fun to create delicious bites together.😃
Maas, maybe I’ll see you in the news someday as a pro Football player😉

Deana has been the most brilliant workawayer for our family the past 5-6 weeks. She is an amazing cook above all; healthy meals and creative recipes. From sourdough bread to taco's and Thai soups; she can do it all. Hard working and great work ethos.
The house was reorganised and tidy as never before. Thinking ahead and quick in finding her way… read more with all family members.
We all wished she could have stayed longer and wish her a great onwards travels and hope she finds a new adventure.

This was my first Workaway experience. I had a very comfortable month here. Martje and family were very friendly and kind, and the kids are smart and adorable. I really loved my private room it had a private entrance and shower, which was so great. I also absolutely loved the surrounding area. It feels very safe, and it’s only a 5-minute walk to… read more Richmond Park, which is a beautiful park where I saw deers many times. The bus stop is a 1-minute walk away, and when the weather is nice, I would walk to the train station, which takes about 20 minutes. Everything is very convenient.
The work includes simple cooking, housework, cleaning, and laundry. I didn’t cook much before, but after a month, I improved a lot! I highly recommend this Workaway, and if I have the chance, I would love to come back again.

Everything was as described in the profile. You'll have to do easy household chores, giving you enough free time to explore beautiful Richmond and other parts of London. I was happy to learn new things and everybody was incredibly helpful and very kind. We shared some good conversations and got along very well! I also loved my own little room with… read more private bathroom. Getting to central London by train/ bus is fairly easy. Thank you for being so supportive with everything and making me feel comfortable from day one! I genuinely enjoyed staying with you! Hope to see you again soon!

My stay at Richmond with this amazing family was a truly beautiful experience. I immediately felt comfortable in my cozy room and with the warmth that everyone gave me. I was missing nothing and could enjoy interesting and insightful conversations with both the parents and the children. I mostly helped with household chores and was kindly guided… read more during the first weeks. I even ended up picking up some useful skills. I had also plenty of free time that allowed me to conduct my own personal activities and explore the stunning area of Richmond as well as London.
