Hi fellow travelers ! We are Tom and Mélanie, two 30yo French Workaway users.
After backpacking the world for almost 2 years, we settled in an apartment a few months ago and would love to host some people now !
Really close to the French Alps, we love hiking and skiing. We live 25 minutes driving (or 15 minutes by train) from Grenoble in a village. Our 70m2 flat is located in a brand new building, we have an extra bedroom with a convertible double bed, a shared kitchen and bathroom ; and a large balcony.
We are mainly in search of meeting new people to bring the "traveling feeling" at home. Regarding the "job" we are just looking for some basic help around the house (small cleaning and cooking) and to practice foreign languages.
PS : If by any chance you are a Yoga teacher, you will make Mélanie really happy.
Grenoble is called "capital of the French Alps" and there are many outdoor activities to do, and many lakes nearby.
One of them is located 25 minutes away from us, and we have an inflatable kayak.
Looking forward to share run, hikes, dinner, and good moments with you !

We both were born and raised in France so we assume that spending some time with us would be a cultural exchange itself for foreigners 😅
We are really curious people, and always happy to share some knowledge about the French history and culture as well as learning from other people. We will be really happy to go and show you some hikes in the nearby amazing French Alps.
Some things we can do :
- "Cave de la Chartreuse" is an historical alcohol distillery where is produced the world famous "Chartreuse" French liquor (that used to be produced by monks), in a beautiful old building that we can visit, a must do !
- There is a monastery located in the mountains that can be visited
- Small mountains villages visit
- Outdoor activities
- Music concerts
- Cinema
- Restaurants
- Lakes
Finally, food is always a good idea and a good way to discover a new culture, there are many good restaurants and we will be happy to cook French meals for you.
Also, our families are living in Lyon (1hour away from here) and we could bring you to have a family dinner.

Private room in our 70m2 flat, with a convertible sofa which turn into a double bed, with a desk. Shared bathroom + kitchen and a large balcony/terrace.

Two train stations with trains going to Grenoble, Chambery, Annecy, Lyon, Valence etc.

We had so much fun, they are really funny and easygoing people. Also they were really helpful with daily tasks like keep it clean and cooking. We had some delicious homemade Mexican meals it was so good.
Would host again anytime.
