  Hi there, I’m Becky 😊
  
  I am excited to be joining Workaway as a host in Myoko as it was being a workawayer myself that landed me to being here in the first place! I’ve been living in Japan for just over two years and fell in love with this little mountain town for all the quietness, access to mountains, rivers and lakes! Most people find themselves coming here during the winter for the sought after snow however it was the green season (Spring, Summer and Autumn) that really made me want to stay! What was meant to be a short couple week experience as a workawayer turned into something much bigger - creating a life and community here for myself. I hope to inspire and share some of my love of this place to you.
  
  I have been involved with Workaway for many years during different chapters of my life - I managed a yoga retreat & teacher training school in New Zealand where we had the support of Workawayers, and that experience really showed me how special these exchanges can be. For me, it was always the connections that come from living, working, and sharing daily life with people from all over the world that stand out. It also allows you to experience places in a much deeper way than if you're just been passing through as a tourist.
  
  I would love the opportunity to open my home here and share some of my love of this place during the green season to those who would like to experience the Japanese mountains outside of winter. I provide a super comfortable place to live alongside a car to use to explore. I don't provide meals however encourage those who are living together to share cooking and treat it like a family home.

  Myoko in the summertime is very different from the busy winter ski season. The area is made up of small local farming villages surrounded by rice fields, mountains, and forests. Summer is when life here feels slower! It’s a wonderful time to experience everyday rural Japanese life.
  
  Because it’s a quieter time of year, it’s also one of the best opportunities to experience authentic local culture, cuisine, and language. Many of the people living here are long-time residents and farmers, so it’s a great place to practice Japanese and learn about local traditions.

  Ayuda

  The help I’m looking for is mostly hands on and includes tasks like painting, cutting grass, cleaning, and other odd jobs. I am also open to collaborating together to utilise and learn from those coming through my house and any suggestions they may have.
  
  The tasks are collaborative, and we’ll be figuring things out together so patience and a little grace is always asked for. If you enjoy practical projects, being outdoors and in a fun environment then this is for you!

  A room in a standalone comfortable house which has all the amenities of an everyday family home.
  
  I will not be providing food so will ask workawayers for 3 hours a day (max. 5 days per week). I encourage workawayers to share and enjoy cooking together.
  I will not be providing food as part of the exchange however i encourage those living together to share and enjoy dinners together!
