After two years of Covid-19 Israel has opened it's borders to vaccinated and certified recovered tourists.
We have a vineyard that grows grapes for wine in the desert. We do not have a winery; there is a winery in our area which makes the wine. Our first harvest was late summer 2016. We also grow herbs and produce essential oils from the herbs we grow. We are Hebrew / English speakers a little older in years (60+) but young at heart.
We take volunteers for a minimum of one week and typically up to a month.
PLEASE NOTE: We prefer couples and volunteers who travel together (at least 2) for company, since we don't live on the farm. It can be lonely in the evenings; also for our peace of mind. We would like you to do your travelling before or after your visit with us, since our work on the farm is seasonal and we invite helpers according to the needs of the farm.
There are other workaway hosts in our area. The volunteers get together often just to hang out and share experiences.

We enjoy sharing about Israel: our culture, agriculture, archeology, cuisine, Jewish life and living. For those interested we can familiarize them with the Hebrew language as time allows.
We prune the vines around mid-to end January and pick the grapes around the end of August. Rest of the year keeps us busy with farm maintenance - weeding and keeping the farm tidy. Essential oils are produced mainly in spring and in the fall.
We have two double rooms each with own bathroom situated in the vineyard. The rooms are air-conditioned with hot and cold running water and satellite TV, There is a shared kitchen for the two rooms. We supply vegetarian food for self preparation in the kitchen.
All private or other needs are for your own account.
There is WiFi internet connection in the rooms.
There is a washing machine for laundry and all work tools are supplied. Bring work clothes, closed work shoes, a hat and sunscreen.
Due to some volunteers leaving their rooms in a bad way we require an agreement beforehand that the room will be kept clean and returned in the manner it was received and without any damage to equipment.
There is a train from Ben Gurion Airport to Beersheva, our nearest city. You need to change train at Hagana station (it is announced on the train); to get off the train at Beersheva main station (not Beersheva North).
The # 140 bus from Be'er Sheva, platform # 21 comes to our area. Please be in touch with regards to arrival times as not all the buses come into our moshav and we have to meet you on one of the neighboring moshavim.
In Israel there is no public transport on Friday afternoons and Saturday so it is best to plan your arrival at the farm on a Sunday or a Monday.
