Even though there is lots to do, Celeste is extremely fair about working vs relaxing time. I never felt like I was working too much, and Celeste provided lots of opportunities to get out and explore the area. We went hiking, went to cafes, the local dam, and of course many times to the beach with the horses. I loved taking the horses to the beach and out riding at some other places!
The horses, Lara, Lucy, and Donald, and the dogs, Jo and Henny, were all such good company! I also very much enjoyed the intellectual chats we had, whether it was things about personality, psychology, and human nature, or about equestrian things including riding styles, saddle construction, and random ideas. Evan's infectious energy really lit up our home. He has a way of making everything more enjoyable and exciting, and his positive vibe is truly contagious. His love for engineering, innovation, and his passion for horses led to many fascinating conversations and hands-on experiences, and we were all the better for it. He has such a curious mind and was always keen to share new ideas and solutions.
In addition to his impressive skills, Evan is incredibly neat and tidy—he took great care in keeping his space organized, and he was always respectful of the house and surroundings. He also got along beautifully with the animals, and it was clear that he had a natural connection with them.
Most of all, Evan is just a fun person to have around. He’s easygoing, kind-hearted, and always up for an adventure, and his presence really made a difference in our day-to-day life. I genuinely miss him and would welcome him back at any time. If you're lucky enough to host Evan, you’re in for a treat—he's a true gem, and we wish him all the best in everything he does!

Ryan was equally impressive, particularly when it came to anything outdoors. Whether it was gardening, maintenance, or any other outdoor task, he was always eager and handy. On top of that, Ryan was an Excel whiz, helping us organize and streamline various tasks that required some technical expertise. He was a great problem solver and always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed.
Together, Ryan and Dana contributed so positively to our Workaway experience, and we truly felt they added value in every way. This was our first Workaway experience, and it turned out to be amazing! We stayed at Celeste's place for about three weeks, which was longer than we initially planned, cus we really loved the environment. As first-time travelers in Australia, it gave us plenty of time to familiarize ourselves with the land.

… read more open field, three horses, and two always-happy dogs—an environment so different from what we’re used to back home. We got to experience tasks like cleaning the stables, feeding the horses, and some simple farming work, along with tidying up the yard and the shed.
Celeste is incredibly supportive and always gives lots of praise after work, making us feel relaxed and appreciated. Whenever he has the chance, he helps drive us to the train station or to buy groceries. He even introduced us to a friend who's very interested in Taiwan, and we had a little gathering with him. On the weekends, he took us to the beach to ride horses, which was such a cool experience for us as Taiwanese!
Overall, Celeste is a generous and fantastic host, and we couldn't have asked for a better first Workaway experience.

I stayed with Celeste for a while in Perth and it was truly a delightful experience. Celeste is a very sociable and friendly person. I loved spending time with her dogs and horses. During my stay, I discovered there's a bus that goes to Armadale where you can find restaurants and all kinds of shops if you want to visit the city, which is quite convenient!
Overall, I highly recommend staying with Celeste. Not only do you learn a lot from a work perspective, but you also get all the tools you need to make the work as easy as possible. The house is lovely and surrounded by beautiful countryside. I visited the local community centre most days to use the WiFi, and the staff there are very friendly. This is a lovely town to live in. Celeste took me to see my first ice hockey session, try my first chicken parmi and watch sunsets on the beach. We went hiking some mornings and I honestly had the best time with her and Ellie. This was a great introduction to Australia for me, thank you :)

… read more Kealan enough for his effort and hard work in ensuring the wood was cut, cleared and stored ready for use. What he achieved in a short space of time surpassed our expectations. Kealan also helped to maintain our 5 acre property, including the vegetable garden, by attending to the weeding, mowing, clearing blocked gutters and whipper snipping.
Word soon spread of his efficiency and work ethic and several of my friends also employed Kealan to assist with general garden maintenance. He was always asked to return and received glowing reviews.
Kealan is a good communicator, regularly demonstrates initiative, has an easy going, cooperative nature and got along well with all the two and four legged animals we introduced him to. I have no doubt that he will excel at further workaway opportunities and would not hesitate to have him return.
