  Welcome to Matallana de Torío (Estación)!
  
  My name is Carmen, I'm 29 years old and I work at a camp. I grew up in Switzerland but my parents are originally from Spain so I decided to move to Spain 9 years ago.
  
  After some traveling and living in different places I've decided to go back to the roots and move to the village of my grandparents to enjoy a simple and meaningful life near to nature.
  
  Currently I’m living with my mother in her house, which we would love to share with travelers. It’s a big house so there is plenty to do.

  This opportunity offers a chance to immerse yourself in the local environment of a small village in Spain. You can improve your Spanish language skills by going for a coffee, doing grocery in our local shop and chatting with my mother, who is an artist with a restoration studio. She loves to teach painting and restoration techniques. We both are keen on crafts and enjoy starting new projects.
  
  I've tralleved a lot and colaborated as a workawayer myself in many projectes, thereby I can easily relate to the needs and wishes of helpers.
  
  I can help you with transportation and you can come with me to León if I drive there. León is full of landmarks and cultural activities. Depending on your interest I can show you or recomend what to visite/what to do/ were to eat.

  Alojamiento

  Our house is located in a charming rural area, it is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. There are cycling and walking tracks, allowing you to explore and immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside. Near by there are also multiple climbing spots.
  
  The village itself is not very charming, but offers many services such as: train station, local shops, bakery, supermarket, 5 bars/cafeterias, swimming pool (in summer) and gym. It also has a small library with a coworking space.
  
  You can reach the beautiful city of León by train in 50 min or by car in 30 min.
  
  You will have a private bedroom in our house in the second floor. The bedroom includes a desk. It is a big and nice house with a lot of space and light. There is a garden and a chilling area where you can enjoy nature, a good book and a coffe. Currently, only my mum and I are living in the house with our little dog so there is plenty of room for everyone.
  
  Moreover, you will have free access to our kitchen and food. Everyone can prepare their own breakfast. For lunch and dinner, we can cook and eat together or, depending on our mood/energy, everyone can eat for themselves. Also you can take your food as a takeaway if you decide to go on a hike in the whereabaouts.
  
  Before arriving we will ask you about your food preferences (or needs) in order to adjust our weekly shopping. I love cooking different kinds of food (local, thai, italian, mexican, swiss)

  You will have internet in your private room and a confortable desk to work. In the village there is also the possibility to go to a coworking space.
