We are Stewart and Sharon. My husband is a retired veterinarian and we have moved to Taupo. We live 5 minutes from Taupo town centre and 5 minute walk to Lake Taupo
We have decided to change our lifestyle and start to renovate houses. We enjoy doing up houses and creating lovely homes. The current home we live in is a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom with an adjoining flat we run as a Air BnB.
We currently have a range of different jobs we are working on in our main home like stripping wallpaper, painting, replacing windows or doors, outside guttering etc etc. Sometimes could be inside or outside work depending on where we are at and at what stage also depends on the weather.
We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. We can host 1 or 2 people or couples. 1-2 weeks or more is great. We have 2 Kayaks for you to use and a couple of bikes for helpers to borrow.
We welcome the help and the chance to meet and befriend overseas visitors. You get to see a beauitful part of NZ and get involved with a kiwi lifestyle and some lovely outdoor activities.
4 hours work per day or 8 hours one day and next day off to go look around. It is up to you!!!
We do expect help with washing dishes and keeping rooms tidy as normal part of living with a family.
We do prefer helpers to not have specific dietry needs as we find this quite disruptive to meal planning/cooking
and grocery shopping.

We will have ;cleaning, painting, wrecking walls etc etc. Sometimes could be gardening just depending on where we are at and the weather.

We have two rooms with double bed and one with queen size bed as accommodation in our home. You will have your own bathrrom. We supply the bedding and the rooms are part of our family home.
We have had a lot of Students in the past when our children were younger and we have been having volunteers and visitors staying in exchange for work for 5 years now. We expect 4 hours work per day per person or full day work and full day off whichever suits. Taupo is a great area for water sports, fishing, bush walks, Thermal activitiy,bungy jumping,
hot pools, Mt Ruapehu and great skiing in the winter and the Tongariro crossing walk etc.
