  my partner, September, and I have been renovating ruins in the South of France for 20 years. we always say the current one is the last however we have a 'current last one' that we are about to start and as we are both in our 60's, can use an extra set or 2 stronger hands:)
  
  if you enjoy bringing ruins back to life, want to see an organic renovation from the ground up, work with a great designer - my partner september, perhaps want to learn some French and more about our French mountain life, we welcome you
  
  we live in a small mountain village called Arfons, in the Tarn region, about 35 minutes from Carcassonne. it is quiet life personified in the middle of the national forests with great walks, mushroom picking, exploring the origins of the canal du midi, drinking water from the source and eating fresh market food
  
  we speak French, English, Spanish and can communicate in dutch and German if needed
  
  I am a doctor of chiropractic that has an integrated approach to natural healing for physical and emotional pain.
  
  Not much else to say. we are honest, open, loving and respectful humanists dedicated to the values humanist hold dear.

  the French mountain culture is different to the valleys or cities, understanding what an organic renovation of a very old French house from ground up entails, general building and creation skills.
  
  working your way though the food markets and learning the most important aspect of French life.... talking about food

  the ability to use a hammer, a drill, a level, mix cement, carry rubble, cleaning the worksite, provide an extra set of hands etc.
  
  here are no tasks that are dangerous, no work at great heights, doing stuff one is not qualified to do etc however just like crossing a road and using a hammer, one needs to be present.

  Alojamiento

  we have a 2 bedroom house right now 30 meters from the ruin with a shared bathroom. you have a very comfortable bed, nice open room with 2 windows great light and direct late afternoon sun, wifi, communal cooking, shared meals however if one needs time alone, the kitchen is always there.

  time off? if its nature there are great walks, lakes and the intricate waterways of the origins of the canal du midi to explore. weekends and sometimes Wednesdays we do the food markets with Saturdays one in Revel, one of the top 10 food markets in France I have been told, being a must
  
  Carcassonne is a 35 minute drive, Toulouse 55 and the Spanish border 2 hours away
