This is a land based eco-centre run by local people on the tip of the Llyn Peninsula in North West Wales. We are a registered Charity. All the centre's building and organic gardening projects have been carried out entirely by volunteers and so this little corner of Wales bears the fingerprints of people from all corners of the earth. We are particularly looking for experienced (although not required), motivated and enthusiastic people to help in the community garden and in and around the centre.

Position 1 and 2 - In charge of our thatched roundhouse changeovers and site maintenance: from the beginning of May 2022
No experience needed for this, just an interest in working outside and ability to manage your own schedule and be able to take initiative. We regularly have guests coming to stay at our three guest accommodations - two beautiful thatched roundhouses and a wooden pod. This income is vital for funding other projects here at the center. This year we will need two people to take on the voluntary position of doing changeovers. Changeovers take place between the window of 10 - 3. As well as the changeovers, this role will include some basic site maintenance such as cutting grass/ strimming or clipping back brambles, weeding walls etc... We expect 5 - 6 hours of work per day. This is an exciting role for two people who are willing to manage their own schedule. For these two roles we ask for a 2 month minimum commitment.
For the 2 above positions, we ask for a flexible commitment to work a few hours on the weekend, on the occasions that changeovers fall on weekend dates. This will be a shared responsibility between both persons.
Here are some links to the accommodations below!

Position 3 - Garden ‘trainee’ from April 2022
No experience needed (although some experience working outside/doing practical work would be a preference). We would like for the applicant to write a small amount on why they would like this role and we would like that the applicant truly would like to gain experience growing (anyone who would use this experience for a project of their own in the future will be given preference). You will be working alongside 1 full-time staff gardener. We ask for a minimum three month commitment. Your hours will need to be flexible along with the demands of the garden.
Take a look at our instagram page for a more visual idea of our garden set up and what we get up to!
Position 4 - Volunteer with some building skills from March 2022 - 4 week opportunity
Preference given to anyone with previous building/carpentry/practical work skills. Ideally comfortable to work alone from time to time. (We will need to be clear that this type of building will not be eco building but more so simple wooden buildings (Shed/Shower block etc). We expect 5 - 6 hours per day. Evenings and weekends are free to do what you please! There will be no other volunteers living at the Farmhouse during this time but the project site will be in constant use by staff, local volunteers and visitors.
All volunteers will be based in the old Farmhouse - it’s a very basic facility, shared cooking and living space, one bathroom (no shower just a bath). Volunteers will be required to keep the house tidy and to rotate cooking responsibilities between themselves. Organic veg will be available for cooking use from the garden as well as basic Suma pantry products.
The site itself is positioned near the tip of the Llyn Peninsula, surrounded by lovely beaches and coastal paths - plenty of outdoor activities to get involved with in your leisure time! We are a 10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop which can take you to our small local seaside Village Aberdaron or to Pwllheli (30 minute trip to town).
If you’re interested in any of the above positions/ want to find out more please don't hesitate to get in touch!

We have a zero tolerance of any drugs or excessive drinking- and if we do understand that this rule is being broken, we will have to ask you to leave.
The centre is in a remote rural setting four miles away from the nearest seaside village of Aberdaron which has a small shop, bakery, fish and chip shop and two pubs.
There are many splendid hidden beaches within minutes of here, and the ancient Celtic hill-forts nearby.
Pwllheli, the nearest big town and train station, is 16 miles away. There is a regular weekday bus service from Pwllheli to the village of Rhoshirwaun which is ten minutes walk away.
