I love the earth and also the other dimensions of this Planet: Air, Sea and Earth! For this reason, I made a choice of life, I abandoned city life and I went down here in Sicily and I bought 4 hectares of land between Avola and Noto, very close to the Laghetti di Cava Grande del Cassibile. I have three children, 6 dogs etc. I am a diving instructor who also loves scuba diving, and I have a 5.5-liter boat with which to dive or go hiking. In the land there are many jobs to do: looking after the vegetable garden, watering the trees, pruning, grafting, planting trees, etc. I also have a lot of equipment to work starting with the tractor, motor hoes, chainsaws etc. Anyone who wants hospitality in exchange for help is welcome!

Se si vedesse il mio profilo su Facebook, si comprenderebbe che amo la terra ed anche le altre dimensioni di questo Pianeta: Aria,Mare e Terra!
Per questo,ho fatto una scelta di vita,ho abbandonato la vita Cittadina e sono sceso qui in Sicilia ed ho acquistato 4 ettari di terra tra Avola e Noto,vicinissimo ai Laghetti di Cava Grande del Cassibile.
Ho tre figli,6 cani ecc.
Sono un istruttore Sub amante anche delle immersioni subacque,ed ho una barca di 5.5 con cui fare anche immersioni o delle escursioni.
Nel terreno ci sono tanti lavoretti da fare: curare l'orto,innaffiare gli alberi,potare,innestare,piantare alberi ecc. ho anche molte attrezzature per lavorare a cominciare dal trattore,motozappe,motoseghe ecc.
Chiunque volesse ospitalità in cambio di aiuto,è il benvenuto!

Visit the Laghetti di cava Grande del -Cassibile (SR) in the nature reserve, we are 15 minutes from the cities of Syracuse, Noto, Avola etc. I add that, if you are passionate about scuba diving, I have a 5.5m boat for excursions and I am a diving instructor and a sportsman in general and for those who want to learn more.

Incredible experience! Antonello is very generous and let me stay one full month despite not being in a good time for him. It felt like having a second family. I will remember for a long time the late night discussions on the roof, the evenings at the beach, the day visiting Ortigia with Nina and Susanna or the hellish path to Lavetti Cava Grande… read more (well, my mucles will remember pain from this one). Antonello sure is one of a kind. That evening when we broke private property to see wild flamingoes hahaha.

Advice to future workawayers : he does not speak English at all ! (Only his daughter does). You better understand Italian. I learned on the spot.
It might be different from what you expect, we are up in the mountains (aprox. 500m) not in Siracusa. You can only go down with him. Buy food for the week at least. No wifi but you have 4G (only when you are inside the house). Some days, the water stops coming for 5mins or 2 hours. Oh and there are 3 very cute fluffy dogs, they will follow you everywhere :)
Bref, if you want a place to disconnect a bit this is perfect. I think if you love cycling this is for you because the roads are very beautifull around. My god I miss the view from the roof!
You generally work from 9am to 1pm. Don't worry if you are not experienced, it is diverse : watering the plants, pulling out bad weeds in the garden, cutting bad plants from the trees, repairing things, upgrading a little the house, destroying blackberries with a bushcutter or pulling little trees out of the ground with a pickaxe (the latter is very tiring). You are free on the weekend. And you can eat anything from the little garden (tomatoes, lettuce, basil, cucumber,...).
I think the best is to stay one or two weeks.

Esperienza incredibile! Antonello è molto generoso e mi lascia stare un mese intero nonostante non sia in un buon momento per lui. Sembrava di avere una seconda famiglia. Ricorderò a lungo le discussioni notturne sul tetto, le serate in spiaggia, la giornata in visita a Ortigia con Nina e Susanna o il sentiero infernale per Lavetti Cava Grande (beh, i miei muscoli ricorderanno il dolore di questo). Antonello sicuramente è unico nel suo genere. Quella sera quando abbiamo rotto la proprietà privata per vedere i fenicotteri selvatici hahaha. Consiglio ai futuri trasfertisti: non parla affatto inglese! (Solo sua figlia lo fa). Tu capisci meglio l'italiano. Ho imparato sul posto. Potrebbe essere diverso da quello che ti aspetti, siamo in montagna (circa 500 m) non a Siracusa. Puoi scendere solo con lui. Acquista cibo almeno per la settimana. Niente wifi ma hai il 4G (solo quando sei dentro casa). Alcuni giorni, l'acqua smette di arrivare per 5 minuti o 2 ore. Oh e ci sono 3 cani morbidissimi molto carini, ti seguiranno ovunque :) Bref, se vuoi un posto dove staccare un po' questo è perfetto. Penso che se ami il ciclismo questo è per te perché le strade sono molto belle intorno. Mio dio mi manca la vista dal tetto! In genere lavori dalle 9:00 alle 13:00. Non preoccuparti se non sei esperto, è molto vario: innaffiare le piante, togliere le erbacce cattive dal giardino, tagliare le piante cattive dagli alberi, riparare le cose, migliorare un po' la casa, distruggere le more con un decespugliatore o tirare poco alberi da terra con un piccone (quest'ultimo è molto faticoso). Sei libero nel fine settimana. E puoi mangiare qualsiasi cosa dell'orto (pomodori, lattuga, basilico, cetriolo,...). Penso che la cosa migliore sia rimanere una o due settimane. Baci a Susan/Naoko che è stata con me la prima settimana. Era la coinquilina più simpatica ^^. E buona fortuna a Sol e Zechiele! Antonello, scusa se la traduzione in italiano è pessima ho usato google. E per favore ringrazia ancora tua madre per il suo cuore caldo, non sono riuscito a salutarla. Nina : passare dell'altra lato xD Facciamo una scommessa : al primo tentativo darai il tuo brivido di guida!
