We are prioritizing anyone from Ukraine that is in need of work volunteering exchange dogs & horses possible.
We could take a group of up to 4 people for April.
Normally we are looking for individuals or couples that commit to a minimum of two months. Even better if you are in it for the whole season. This means you get to experience becoming part of the community and you will have the freedom to get creative and help shape the project.
But don't think that a long term stay will stop you exploring, we often go on community trips and work our schedules to enable each other to take time off in blocks that allow you to explore other areas.
If you really want to come but don't have so much time, then you are still welcome to get in touch. We do get a lot of messages so make yours stand out by telling us what skills and energy you would love to bring to the project and we will accommodate you if we can.
Please note we are only able to offer paid work at busy times, high season and specific to projects that we are applying for funding for. Outside of these times we function as a community without an income revenue, and can offer a very good WorkAway volunteering exchange with some outside weekend work if needed (April - Oct)
We are also pro freedom of choice so everyone is welcome here, and we trust our volunteers and guest to delay or reschedule visits, should they feel they have any significant sickness that could harm others.
Feb - March
We will form a core team & set up / update online planning etc this can be done remotely. Build community retreats. Tech savvy, marketing & organising skills needed.
Meet at the property & spring clean setting up the yoga barn, guest Lodge, nomads stay stable & eco bathroom. Plumbers & eco system knowledge needed & equally general help & gardening. The right person /people could have free rein to develop and then run our sustainable gardens. We are also waiting on the outcome of funding for our community shop and another project. Clearing over grown areas for garden, looking at design and planning stages of our new projects.
May - Sep
Running & teaching our daily community schedule which is open and adaptable to the community's skills. Last year we combined, yoga, energy healing, Tai Chi, Ariel yoga, meditation, massage but we are open and welcoming of all practices that are in sync with our ethos.
Cooking and developing plant based meals and menus, cooking for the community and guests running the kitchens and handling local produce and budgeting.
Harvesting our own produce, making home made products and preserved foods, collecting fire wood and looking after animals.
Cleaning and caring for the guest areas, interacting with guests, showing them around and including them where wanted in community life.
Developing our brand and Eco shop products making hand painted and designed upcycles items.
Developing a village shop and cafe to give back to the local people. The idea is that we would become a charity and provide some free and heavily discounted foods for local pensioners.
I was inspired to share my home with others this year having lived in a community myself during COVID and having been stranded with Digital Nomads in Morocco during the first lock down.
In Oct myself and nine volunteers from WorkAway and other connections arrived and began to create a project. Next spring we will develop further in to the areas retreats and workcation which is now on hold for this year.
We do practice and have a local class so there is an opportunity for self and guided yoga.
Currently we are a vegetarian/vegan community we avoid all factory produced dairy products but support small local producers of cheese, yogurt and free range eggs.
We are happy to cater for strict vegans but believe everyone is on his or her own path and it is not our place to convert we only hope to inspire and trigger awareness around sustainable and conscious eating.
We eat well a wide range of amazing seasonal and local produce and currently have a very talented young chef within the community who astounds us all every day.
All our heating is from log burners we would love help to develop projects that enable us to increase our eco conscious lifestyle, we have collected two abandoned puppies a stray cat and two doomed chickens since we arrived, so there is never a dull moment. We are a vibrant and social bunch who enjoy an occasional glass of red wine and lots of good music and dancing with our friends and Bulgarian neighbours.
However, it's not a party place we are primarily here to develop our self and spiritual practices so early mornings, meditation and yoga are an important part of our daily life and we prefer you don't smoke. If it's something your working on then great maybe we can help.
Yoga has been a part of my life for 20 years now it helps me along with meditation and self awareness to develop spiritual awareness. I have a keen interest and want to learn more about alternative medicine and natural self care products. ,
I travelled most of Europe backpacking in my 20's and I am still a frequent traveller staying in hostels in my free time last year working and travelling in Asia and currently in Northern Spain.
I have a 2500 sqm plot with a house that is already renovated and very comfy and nice to stay in we have a outside chill-out room for people to socialise and for weekends and late nights. Allowing the house to remain in quite time between 22.30 and 07.00
Our Yoga barn is something we achieved this autumn but it's not heated yet so we are working on a solution for that and would love any eco friendly ideas.
I am happy to help people get to me where needed, flexible about hours etc depending on how many people are interested we can work out a schedule.
The pool is seasonal we get cold winters so its packed away till spring :)

It's a fabulous historically and culturally rich area of the Balkans look up Tryavna, loads to see great for mountain biking and hill running. I have my Ayurvedic Massage qualification and 200h Yoga Teacher Training so I can hold classes and sessions for volunteers along with fresh local produce and yummy healthy plant-based meals.
I will have my car so able to help with pickups, I've had the house for 14 years so I'm able to give you all local info and best ways to get to the area.
I've travelled all over the world a combination of working with horses and backpacking hostel staying so lots to chat about.

We now have a second house and you will either have your own room or share with one other person.
You can also camp if you prefer.
We tend to eat as a community and take it turns to cook if we are smaller numbers at busier times we will have a volunteer that is in charge of the kitchen as their work this may include cooking for guests. On days off and quite times it we just do our own thing or eat out.
Shipka Pass is close to me, and the old capital that defended from the Ottoman Invasion Veliko Tarnovo is close. Also, a famous mineral spa just 3k away, Voneshda Voda is famous for its healing water. Forests, mountains, monasteries 11th-century buildings of Tryavna, it's a significant area. We also have Dryavano Monastery and famous UFO style communist monument near by.

Yes, we are a mixture of solo travellers and Dig Nomads you are welcome at our community as a guest or we also have the option of joining us as a community friend , if you can not commit to WorkAway hours but can help out with daily tasks in exchange for friends rates 😊
In the summer you can drive up our grass track and park on the outside of our community courtyard so you have water and electric right next to you and a outside loo. In wet weather its better to park on the flat car park at the bottom of our track not in the past we have run an extension cable down for the camper vans if needed.
We now have 2 puppies a cat and chickens so it would be quite tricky but not impossible if its quite dog that can handle two naughty puppies.
