MYSELF and MUM:
My name is Paola, I'm italian, I'm 44 and I live in Dublin, Ireland - with my family.
I work full time for a well-known company and I need a trustworthy and friendly person to live with my mother, an 84-year-old lady, who is kind and still kind of self-sufficient, but she is aging fast like any elderly person of her age... her name is Anna Maria😊
YOU: Very important: I am NOT looking for a caregiver (badante), but a person who is patient, empathetic, cheerful, independent and healthy, who is ready to share some of her time with her, willing to learn and get to know her without be intrusive and have their own spaces, as it should be.
I am looking for someone who can speak and understand Italian FLUENTLY, since mum speaks only Italian - :-)
This is a non-negotiable requirement. I appreciate people who's interested and self studying italian, but you must be already at a fluent/native level.
My mum lives alone in a fairly large apartment, and although she has good mobility (some knee pain or minor aches) and full mental faculties, she obviously needs someone to help her at home and do the daily shopping (for her and for you ), cleaning of the house but above all, to be there if needed and to control (in a discreet way) that her daily medicines are taken.
Mainly it is about keeping her a little company and keeping the house clean (which if done daily,
does not require a lot of work😊)
I want to point out that the apartment is old and not luxury at all, you have all you need, but it is modest :-)
Generally, my mother watches TV / film, does crosswords, knits and has afternoon naps.
Also, in the morning, she likes to stay in bed, after having breakfast (which she prepares by herself) - and she loves coffee, which she prepares by herself.
She has excellent personal hygiene - she does not need someone to wash her or anything, but only to be at home when taking a shower - for my peace of mind :-)
She is still a great cook, she cooked for all of us, and we are a big family - but she no longer takes care of cooking as she used to do, and after doing it for over 60 years she took a break :-)
But if someone involves her in doing so, the culinary experience will be evident!
As I said, we are a big family, and above all one of my sisters goes to her every day, but she lives half an hour away, and the daily trip is sometimes difficult for her - she has two teenage daughters, so she's a busy mom / wife so there would be days when she won't be able to do it.
The other members of the family (including me) constantly go to mum, but since we are all busy with work / our families, it would be nice to have someone who lives with her.
The apartment is located in a building with a lift and from the balcony you can admire the sea ... the long beach (Serapo beach, in Gaeta) is within walking distance.
Shops are just minutes away, pharmacy, cinema, bar, fruit / vegetables / grocery / clothes, weekly outdoor market right at the foot of the building, everything is very close, within walking distance.
Gaeta is a lovely city, lots to see and do - and you'll have plenty of free time every day!
Rome and naples are easily reachable with trains from the nearby Formia station.
Regarding the accomodation : there is a single room with a large wardrobe and the bathroom is shared with her, therefore, always available.

Mi chiamo Paola, sono italiana, ho 40 anni e vivo a Dublino, in Irlanda – con la mia famiglia.
Lavoro a tempo pieno per una nota azienda ed ho bisogno di una persona fidata e amichevole che viva con mia madre, una signora di 80 anni, gentile e autosufficiente, ma che sta invecchiando...il suo nome è AnnaMaria😊
Molto importante: NON cerco una badante (tutti sappiamo come operano le badanti – astenersi dal contattarmi), ma una persona empatica, allegra e indipendente e in salute, che sia pronta a condividere un po’ del suo tempo con lei, imparare a conoscerla senza essere invadente e che abbia i propri spazi, come è giusto che sia, infatti avrai molto tempo libero, non cerco una donna di servizio.
Sono alla ricerca di una donna / ragazza che sappia parlare e comprendere bene l'italiano, poiché la mamma parla solo italiano.
La mamma vive da sola in un appartamento abbastanza grande, e sebbene abbia piena mobilità (a parte dolore al ginocchio) e piene facoltà mentali, ovviamente ha bisogno di qualcuno che l’aiuti in casa e faccia la spesa quotidiana (per lei e per te), ma soprattutto, essere lì se ne ha bisogno e controllare (in modo discreto) che vengano prese le medicine quotidiane.
Principalmente si tratta di farle un po’di compagnia e tenere pulita la casa (che se fatto quotidianamente,
non richiede un grande lavoro😊)
Generalmente, la mamma guarda la TV / film, fa le parole crociate, lavora a maglia e fa sonnellini pomeridiani. Inoltre la mattina le piace rimanere a letto, dopo aver fatto colazione (che si prepara da sola) – ed è amante del caffè che si prepara da sola.
E’ anche autonoma nell’igiene personale – non ha bisogno che qualcuno la lavi o altro, ma solo essere in casa quando si fa la doccia – mi sentirei più tranquilla IO 😊.
È ancora un'ottima cuoca, cucinava per tutti noi, che siamo una grande famiglia - ma non si occupa più di cucinare come faceva un tempo, e dopo averlo fatto per oltre 60 anni si è presa una pausa :-)! Ma se qualcuno la coinvolge nel farlo, l'esperienza culinaria sarà evidente!
Come ho detto, siamo una grande famiglia, e soprattutto una delle mie sorelle va da lei ogni giorno, ma vive a mezz'ora di distanza, e il tragitto giornaliero a volte è pesante per lei - ha due figlie adolescenti, quindi è una mamma / moglie occupata, pertanto ci sarebbero giorni in cui non riuscirà’ a farlo.
Gli altri membri della famiglia (me compresa) vanno costantemente dalla mamma, ma dato che tutti siamo anche occupati con il lavoro / le proprie famiglie, sarebbe bello avere qualcuno che viva con lei.
L'appartamento si trova in un edificio con ascensore e dal balcone si può ammirare il mare ... la lunga spiaggia (spiaggia di Serapo, a Gaeta) è raggiungibile a piedi.
I negozi sono a pochi minuti, farmacia, cinema, bar, frutta / verdura / drogheria / vestiti, mercato settimanale all'aperto proprio ai piedi del palazzo, tutto è molto vicino, a pochi passi.
Gaeta è una città incantevole, molto da vedere e da fare - e avrai un sacco di tempo libero ogni giorno!
C'è una camera singola con un grande armadio e il bagno è in comune con la mamma, pertanto, sempre disponibile.
Potrei descrivere tutto nei dettagli, ma chiedimi e risponderò a tutte le tue domande!
Se sei interessata e pensi che potresti valutare il medio lungo termine, contattami.
Ma come detto, non cerco qualcuno che applichi lo stile badante!!
