Hello Everyone! :)
We are located in the beautiful mountains of the Cretan countryside and are looking for motivated people to help us with a variety of eco, home, and creative projects throughout the year.
We would like to host positive and passionate people from around the world who would like to meaningfully help with various daily tasks.
We have a big back garden, as well as a vineyard and olive groves that need attention throughout the year. Seasonal tasks might include pruning, weeding, harvesting, and general upkeep.
We have a small handmade ceramics studio where we create pieces inspired by Ancient Greek art & history designed for various cultural & artistic projects; you are welcome to observe and learn about these during your stay but we do not request any help with these, or any business-related activities.
The house is rustic yet comfortable, originally built over 100 years ago and gradually renovated over the past years. We’re still working on a few renovation and expansion projects around the home, and would welcome any help and ideas with these throughout the year, as well as general organisation and upkeep of shared spaces.
The location is in a small, remote village virtually untouched by tourism, so staying here is a chance to experience Greece as a true local.
We look forward to speaking with you soon!

The location is great for a real cultural dive, as it has not been exposed to tourism and feels as though it has been gently preserved in time. This offers visitors a genuine experience of local Greek life, much as it has been lived for generations.
The surrounding area is also beautiful for exploring nature and hiking. For safety, especially on longer or more remote routes in the Cretan mountains, we appreciate good communication and generally encourage volunteers to go in pairs or groups where possible.
We are very connected to and aware of the local environment, including the seasonal plants, wild herbs, and natural landscape of the area, and have a strong passion for caring for the land and living in harmony with it.
We have spent over 40 years researching Ancient Greek civilisations, mythology and history, particularly in relation to art and ceramics, so there is a lot of knowledge we are happy to share through meaningful cultural exchanges.

Overall, the tasks and projects here are quite versatile, making the stay both interesting and a valuable learning experience. We always aim to take into account each person’s strengths, interests, and pace when sharing out tasks.
Some tasks are simple and repetitive in nature, offering a calm and mindful rhythm to the day, while others are more active and can be physically engaging, especially when working outdoors. It’s a relaxed but hands-on environment.
Depending on the season, much of the help is focused on eco and land-based activities, as we have fruitful vineyards, olive trees, and gardens that need ongoing care. This can include things like pruning, planting, weeding, harvesting, and general upkeep of the land.
Alongside this, there are also home-based and creative projects, as well as day-to-day help such as organising spaces, light maintenance, and contributing to ongoing improvements around the home and surrounding areas.
After helping hours, we ask everyone to take a little time to contribute to shared daily tasks in the common spaces, helping to maintain a clean, comfortable, and respectful living environment for everyone.

Alojamiento
The accommodation provided is a spacious detached room next to the main home, which has one double bed and two single beds.
This is a shared bedroom and can host a maximum of around 2–3 Workawayers at a time. Alternatively, there is also a large private tent set up in the garden next to the home for anyone who would prefer.
The bathroom and kitchen area are open to everyone and shared with the rest of the house.
We provide all ingredients for meals, and volunteers are welcome to prepare and cook food themselves in the shared kitchen, often coming together to make and share meals.
The house has a lot of outdoor space, a big garden and views of the surrounding mountains.
For heating in the winter, there is a fireplace and partly electric heating.
There is strong wifi all around the home.
Algo más...
The village is remote, with many scenic paths for hiking and connecting with nature, surrounded by mountains, greenery, and open landscapes. It’s a peaceful place where you can really slow down, enjoy quiet surroundings, and experience a more traditional rhythm of life.
There is a beautiful beach around a 20-minute bus ride away, with crystal-clear waters, natural scenery, and lovely sunsets. The area there also has a few local cafés, small restaurants, and mini markets, making it a nice spot to spend a relaxed day by the sea.
From late spring to early autumn, there are more regular buses passing through the village. These can take you to nearby beaches, mountain gorges, and surrounding villages, or into a larger town for sightseeing, exploring local culture, or enjoying a change of pace on your days off. Some of the nearby natural areas are particularly well known for their hiking routes and unique landscapes.
Big festivals, locally called glendia, take place quite often, as the area follows an Orthodox Christian culture that celebrates name days and other religious occasions with large feasts, live music, and traditional dancing. These gatherings are a special part of local life. Greek people are always finding reasons to come together, share food, and enjoy life’s simple moments.
