Staying on Mina's homestead was wonderful! She had 4-5 cats around, though I kept losing count, but Minnie and Tibs were my favorite, meowing at me every time I came close and being very affectionate otherwise. I found her work to be really fun, like the tiny house she was building for the other workawayers to come after me was a great experience

Staying with Mina was a wonderful experience. She is an amazing person with a lovely personality. I had the chance to stay at her place during February and it was one of my best "away" experiences. I did some construction work like helping with plumbing, mudding and electrical works , some farm work ( moving topsoil, mulch...) and also built a beautiful storage shelve for her storage. She provided me proper accommodation and groceries and everything was ready and enough for comfortable, quite and safe stay. I also had the chance to meet her lovely dogs, cats and chickens. Overall this was a fabulous experience that just couldn't be any better and all thanks to Mina because she is just a unique and one of the kind people (with a kind but strong heart) out there.
I just cant wait for another opportunity to do another workaway for her.

Sandi was a great addition to our little homestead. She has a pleasant and upbeat personality. Even through a major hurricane, she saw the positive side of everything. I came for the weekend and stayed 8 months! That is the magic I experienced with Mina, her beautiful gardens and the critters that live on the property.
I thought I had experience with gardening and landscape maintenance. I learned how to properly plant trees, vegetables and flowers. I learned how to use power tools to keep the property

I thought I knew how to care for feeding chickens and retrieving eggs. I learned about good and bad bacteria, why there is a pecking order and the significance of a single Sr. Rooster in the yard. I learned how a little bit of condensation changes the biology of how to care for the eggs.
Mina has the heart of a teacher. Not only did I learn how to do a variety of tasks, I learned the backstory and the whys of what I learned. I had no idea what was in store when I arrived and any expectations were exceeded. This was more than a workaway, it was a life changing experience.
The Tiny House I stayed in is warm, cozy, comfortable and private. Everything that is needed is available and supplies are actively refreshed as they are used.
I call Mina's Garden home. I found safety, purpose, laughter and a good friend in her while living and working there. This is my home base while I deal with family matters and will return!
If you value peaceful country living with resources and amenities minutes away, this is the jackpot.Comentarios

Boris was a huge help on our small homestead. He was able to take care of all tasks to keep the homestead going during my absence, with minimal training. Carina and Marcel are a remarkable couple.

Carina is awesome at taping/floating and painting. But her real passion is gardening. She enjoys planting seeds and then tending to the seedlings while watching them grow. Both are great workers, wonderful people and great company. I will miss playing Rummy and talking lightheartedly with them in the evenings.
Any host who is lucky enough to have Carina and Marcel apply to them, my advice, grab them with both hands!
Our stay with Mina will be in our minds for years to come!

Mina was a wonderful host, I would recommend that anyone that is travelling through stop and see the operation she has. I really enjoyed my short time there. Unfortunately I got sick there and was not much help to her whole I was there. I did learn that I am clueless about hanging sheetrock.
in the end I had a wonderful time visiting Mina.

I had a very fulfilling and enjoyable time with Mina. During my stay there, my focus was on demolishing and reframing the exterior walls of the garage which sustained much termite damage. Aside from the current garage building project, there are gardening projects, general repairs to be done as well as daily maintenance tasks that need attention.

There are 3 beautiful energetic and friendly dogs, 3 gorgeous outdoor black cats that are friendly and affectionate, an indoor cat named Lily that is cute, sweet and likes to play hard to get sometimes and interestingly, chickens that have adopted a goose into their flock. I stayed in the tiny house, which was more than accomodating. It's comfortable and cozy and it was an ideal space for me to get much thinking, reflecting and work done. The wifi was surprising stable and reliable.
I can not thank Mina enough for her hospitality, her friendship and the delicious meals that she prepared during my stay. She always made sure that I was taken care of, that my belly was full and that my stay was comfortable. She is not only very knowledgeable in gardening and natural medicines but she is a very intelligent woman in general with much life experience and wisdom that she shared generously in the form of good conversation and advice. I had a pleasant visit with Mina at her homestead. Tiny home accommodations were great! Work was changing frequently since there is a lot of work at a homestead. But all in all, nothing was too difficult. Mina is a great cook. I enjoyed all the meals prepared. Mina and I became friends and will remain in contact. Hope to be back next year!

I've had a great time at Mina's place, although I didn't meet her in person, as she had to travel on short notice.
