When we left Michelles and Scotts home 1 year ago it was one of the hardest goodbyes we have ever experienced. Our original plan was to stay for 4 weeks and then to travel to New Zealand. We arrived without any specific expectations and left with teary eyes but smiling faces.
Michelle welcomed us in her beautiful home and was a bit worried at first because of some troubles she had with the girl they hosted before us. But after a few days we began to build up a wonderful connection with her, Scott and their 3 beautiful girls Sophia, Addy and Bella.
We have never experienced or met people before (except for our parents) that put so much trust in us and in what we were doing. Thank you Michelle and Scott it was and still is an invaluable feeling!!
Our days usually started at 6 in the morning with breakfast and the daily puppywalk. Scott taught us how to educate the little pupps and how to make them listen to their names. He was very patient with us and with all their animals and when we had a question or needed help with anything he was always there to help us. He had a very special relationship with his dogs and horses and always treated them with a mix of respect, patience and strictness.
After the puppywalk we fed all the dogs and the horses and cleaned their places which was probably the least enjoyable part of the day but because we loved our animals it was just natural to do it for them. And of course there was always time for some cuddles in between. After that we usually had lunch and rested for a bit. In the afternoon we spent our time with little tasks Michelle gave us like painting, gardening, helping to prepare the dinner or handling the young horses. In the evening we did another round of feeding and taking care of the animals and then we always had the most delicious dinner with the whole family. We talked about our days, the girls told stories form school and we laughed a lot.
The weekends were always fun. We slept in and had breakfast all together and went on special trips like the circus or swimming with the dogs or going on rides or to the local pub.
Sometimes Michelle trusted us to watch the girls for a few hours and it was always such a delightful time. All the 3 of them are so clever and beautiful. They have really good manners and love to play outside and spend time with their animals. They became little sisters to us and we miss them a lot!
Michelle was really caring and sweet to us and we had some amazing rides and talks with her. We shared tears and laughs and we couldnt have asked for a better host mom. She is such a strong and self-confident woman, very busy doing her work and organizing big charity events. But besides that she never forgets to show her girls that she loves and cares for them more than for anything else. She is a really special person and when we grow up we hope to be as loving, patient and responsible as she is.
All in all we can say that if you are willing to work hard and are an animal and human loving person you should take the risk to loose a piece of your heart to this special place, dogs, horses and family.

My best friend and I stayed with Michelle, Scott, and their three little girls for what turned out to be a short month. Every family member welcomed us with open arms and made us feel very comfortable. … read more place for experienced riders and animal lovers. They have beautiful horses and many loving dogs. We recommend this place to hard workers that are always willing to try new things. We also recommend that you stay for more than 5 weeks, as we definitely wish we could've stayed longer.
Thank you Michelle, Scott, Sophia, Addie, and Bella for all the laughs, jokes, lessons, adventures, and great conversations. Thank you for sharing your life with us and welcoming us into your home. It was such an incredible experience and we hope we can come back soon!!

I had a fantastic stay of five weeks with Michelle and Scott! It's a paradise for horse lovers as they breed beautiful to ride horses. Scott is one of the best horse people I've ever met and I learnt a lot from him about working with young horses. They are a very lovely family with three gorgeous and fun little girls. I can highly recommend this
