UPDATED! Hi my name is Marios! I manage a small hotel which includes a farm, & a theme park that is considered a destination hotel, in the most verdant area in Greece, Karpenissi. We are a family oriented hotel with myriad of activities, a science theme park and a farm in central Greece! We're surrounded my luscious green mountains, cute villages & a river. Here, the life is quiet because of the environment but lively at the same time because of our guests.
As a business, we operate on a pioneering ethical model that is unique in Greece, prioritizing employee benefits, mental health and work-life balance. Additionally, we have been a very active member in various environmental programs and volunteering activities. We were the first Gold Zero Waste Hotel in Greece, The first Platinum Hikers Friendly Hotel, One of the first members of The eat local, Greek Breakfast initiative, one of the earliest adopters of Green Key practices, and we operate the only sanctuary farm in Greece in a hotel, with rescues of all kinds.
We are working towards creating a unique place, so we have constant DIY building projects of all kinds, and during the summer months we are also in need of Gardening and Landscaping help. Additionally, we are always looking for Housekeeping help all year round.
Our passions are never-ending, and we hope to meet new people and make new connections with people who share our vision and passions worldwide! -

PAID POSITIONS
At our hotel there are many tasks which are largely as explained above
We are currently looking for a workawayer for handymen and outdoor manual work for the period of Late August & September
Outdoor Projects - This is done under the direction of Adonis our Head of Maintenance
This category has many different tasks that change during the period of the year! This includes:
General maintenance - Painting, plumbing, bicycle repair etc
DIY building projects - Some of our latest projects are outdoor bowling, Picnic tables, Fences, Castle walls, Garden games etc.
Renovations and light construction: usually includes some ripping out of old items/ or light demolition and maintaining a clean space in the construction area.
Gardening & Landscaping - watering, cutting grass, trimming trees, Paving roads, Garden edging, Gathering leaves etc
Facilities & Animal care - Cleaning animal enclosures, scrubbing artificial pond floors etc
In general, the hours are 5-6 hours for 4-5 days per week and we provide 25% more than the minimum wage (per hour), plus extra compensation for meals. The minimum wage is about 4 euros, and we provide 5 euros/per hour.
NON-PAID POSITIONS
Explorer - Want to just visit the area, but are not interested in working? We will host you for free if there is enough capacity!
Companion - Our hotel is quite small, so sometimes there's not enough work for many people. For example, you want to travel with your friend or spouse, but we only have enough work for a single person. You can bring them along! We provide the same facilities and if there is enough work for more people then the pay is the same as the paid positions! -

Alojamiento
We offer accommodation in small houses of about 25 squared meters fully furnished with a normal-sized kitchen! The beds are single with dimensions 70cmx190cm so if you are taller than that please let us know! Our dorms are strictly Non-smoking, so if that is a dealbreaker for you, we understand.
For meals, we provide additional compensation per person and all of our dorms have kitchens you can freely use. -

If you have a valid driving license for Greece, we can also provide a shared car, which you can use for the immediate area after putting in a request at the reception! The cost for the use of the car is 30 cents per Km
