Hello dear visitors to our profile! We – Kirsten and Thomas – live in the beautiful Lake Constance region.

We have three cats (and feed many strays ;) ). Our village is located right on the Swiss border, 8 km from Schaffhausen. Our not-quite-perfect house is 200 years old and was built by a Jewish family.

We have a 2500 m² garden behind our house, which provides us with apples, cherries, chestnuts, berries, plums, and plenty of vegetables.

We're not perfect, and you don't have to be either.

We'd love to hear exciting things about your home countries.

We enjoy engaging in lively discussions about gardening topics. Kirsten is happy to show you a thing or two about our gardening system.

We welcome guests who would like to stay with us for longer than three weeks. Shorter stays mean too much stress for us and our cats.

We are vegan and look forward to providing you with a vegan diet during your stay with us. This can be a wonderful experience.

So far, all of our guests have enjoyed it.

Generally we are very curious about other cultures, their traditions and customs. A big interest lies also in the exchange of different types of cooking, as well as handling of spices.

Due to me, Thomas, speaking only little English, it would be very helpfull, if our guest would be able to speak fundamental German.

If not, we'll surely find another way of communication.

At the moment, the garden has to be prepared for spring. Sow and potted plants. Prepare the beds.

But there's also a lot of other tasks to be done in our garden as in our house. Handicraft skills and strong arms would surely be helpful.

Michalina und Francizek waren zweimal für je 4 Wochen bei uns. Und was soll ich sagen, es war eine wirklich klasse Zeit. Beide sind wunderbare, freundliche, hilfsbereite und zuverlässige Personen. Die Zeit mit ihnen zu verbringen hat viel Spaß gemacht und war an vielen Stellen sehr lehrreich. Mit Francizek konnte man sich wunderbar über Literatur … read more und viele weitere Themen austauschen.

Es machte Freude, Michalina zuzuhören, wenn sie von ihrer Heimat und ihrem Zuhause erzählte. Auch der Austausch mit ihr über das Kochen und ihre Reisen war sehr interessant. Und wenn die beiden gemeinsam gekocht haben, konnte man nicht mit dem Essen aufhören, so lecker hat alles gescheckt. Viele gemeinsame Abende mit angeregten Gesprächen durften wir mit ihnen gemeinsam verbringen.

Michalina und Francizek waren eine große Hilfe im Haus und Garten. Und was die beiden an Arbeit gemacht haben, war danach immer hervorragend. Sie haben Hecken geschnitten, den Boden für eine neue Aussaat vorbereitet, gepflanzt und geerntet. Holz gesägt und gestapelt und vieles mehr.

Jederzeit sind diese beiden jungen Menschen wieder in unserem Haus willkommen. Besten Dank für die wunderschöne Zeit mit Euch. Wir wünschen Euch nur das Beste auf Eurem weiteren Weg.

Michalina and Francizek were with us twice for 4 weeks each. And what can I say, it was a really great time. Both are wonderful, friendly, helpful and reliable people. Spending time with them was a lot of fun and very educational in many places. With Francizek you could exchange wonderful ideas about literature and many other topics. It was a pleasure to listen to Michalina when she talked about her homeland and her home. The exchange with her about cooking and her travels was also very interesting. And when the two cooked together, you couldn't stop eating, everything was so delicious. We were able to spend many evenings together with them with stimulating conversations.

Michalina and Francizek were a great help in the house and garden. And the work the two of them did was always excellent afterwards. They trimmed hedges, prepared the ground for new sowing, planted and harvested. Sawed and stacked wood and much more.

These two young people are always welcome back in our house. Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you. We wish you all the best for the future.

Wir wissen gar nicht, wo wir anfangen sollen, um Neset zu beschreiben. Er ist ein immer fröhlicher, positiver Mensch. Sein herzliches Wesen nimmt einen sofort ein. Er weiß viel von der Welt zu berichten und von dem, was er erlebt hat. Es macht Spaß, ihm zuzuhören.

Neset ist sehr hilfsbereit, er sieht, wo es gerade etwas zum Anpacken gibt. Egal, … read more was gerade an Aufgaben anstand, Neset hat sie erledigt.

In unserem großen Garten hat Neset uns wirklich sehr geholfen. Bis zum letzten Tag war es ihm wichtig, alles, was er begonnen hat, fertig zu stellen. Es war so schön, zu sehen, wie es im Garten vorwärtsging. In diesem Mann steckt so viel Kraft und Ausdauer.

Neset wurde rasch ein Teil der Familie und wir teilten gerne mit ihm einige unsere Abende und unsere freie Zeit. Dabei war Neset nie aufdringlich oder fordernd. Es war unsere Initiative, Zeit mit ihm zu teilen. Wir saßen gerne mit ihm zusammen und plauderten. Die vier Wochen, in den Neset bei uns war, vergingen leider viel zu schnell. Neset zählt zu den Personen, die zu uns als Workaway kamen und als gute Freunde gingen. Sicher werden wir weiterhin mit Neset den Kontakt aufrechterhalten und hoffen sehr, ihn wiederzusehen.

Einen ganz lieben Dank an Neset, für die gute Zeit, von Kitsten, Hannah, Thomas und den Katzen (Du warst trotz Deiner Allergie wirklich tapfer mit den Katzen)

We don't even know where to begin to describe Neset. He is always a happy, positive person. His warm personality captivates you immediately. He has a lot to say about the world and what he has experienced. It is fun to listen to him.

Neset is very helpful, he sees where there is something to be done. No matter what tasks were pending, Neset got them done.

Neset really helped us a lot in our large garden. Right up until the last day, it was important to him to finish everything he started. It was so nice to see how things were progressing in the garden. There is so much strength and endurance in this man.

Neset quickly became part of the family and we enjoyed sharing some of our evenings and our free time with him. Neset was never pushy or demanding. It was our initiative to share time with him. We enjoyed sitting together with him and chatting. The four weeks that Neset was with us unfortunately went far too quickly. Neset is one of the people who came to us as a workaway and left as good friends. We will certainly keep in touch with Neset and hope to see him again.

A big thank you to Neset for the good times, from Kitsten, Hannah, Thomas and the cats (you were really brave with the cats despite your allergy)
