Welcome to our little farm on the beautiful Danish island of Bornholm!
We are a family living on a small, privately owned farm with our children, cats, and chickens. Life here is busy, relaxed, and always full of interesting projects. There’s always something happening, whether it’s working in the kitchen garden, caring for the animals, tackling building or DIY projects, maintaining the house and farm, or simply enjoying the outdoors together.
Our farm is our home, not a commercial business. Everything we grow, build, and produce is for our own family's use and consumption. We enjoy becoming a little more self-sufficient each year, growing vegetables, caring for our animals, and continuously improving our small farm. As a Workawayer, you'll be joining us in our everyday family life and helping with the kinds of projects that naturally come with maintaining a home and smallholding.
Our family eats a vegan diet, so all meals we prepare at home are plant-based. We don’t have meat or fish in the house, although dairy products are welcome if you’d like to have them. Whether you’re already vegan or simply curious to try delicious plant-based food, we’re happy to share our meals and recipes with you.
We enjoy meeting people from different cultures and believe Workaway is a wonderful way to share skills, experiences, and everyday life. We aim to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like part of the household.
Our farm is in a peaceful rural setting, yet conveniently located within cycling distance of Rønne, Bornholm’s main town. The beach is only about 15 minutes away by bike, and the airport is just as close, making it easy to explore the island. Bornholm is known for its beautiful coastline, forests, cliffs, cycling routes, charming villages, and vibrant local food and arts scene. Whether you enjoy nature, outdoor activities, or simply a slower pace of life, there’s plenty to discover here.
If you enjoy practical tasks, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and would like to experience everyday life on a small Danish family farm while exploring one of Denmark’s most beautiful islands, we’d love to welcome you! -

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
For us, Workaway is about much more than getting help with projects—it's about meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing everyday life, and learning from one another.
We enjoy sharing meals, conversations, and spending time together whenever it fits everyone's plans. Depending on what's happening, you might join us for family dinners, bonfires, trips to the beach, local markets, or exploring different parts of Bornholm. Of course, you'll also have plenty of free time to discover the island on your own.
If you're interested, we're happy to share what we know about gardening, growing vegetables, caring for chickens, DIY projects, and life on a small Danish farm. You'll also get a taste of everyday family life in Denmark and can experience the unique culture and nature of Bornholm.
We love meeting people from different cultures and hearing about their traditions, food, languages, and experiences. We hope our Workawayers will share a little of their own culture with us, whether that's through stories, cooking a favourite meal, teaching us a few words in their language, or simply sharing a different perspective on life. We believe these exchanges are what make the Workaway experience special for everyone. -
Ayuda
There is always a variety of tasks on our farm, and the tasks changes with the seasons. Depending on the time of year, you might help with the kitchen garden, weeding, planting, harvesting, feeding the chickens, general farm and house maintenance, painting, small building or DIY projects, chopping wood, or keeping outdoor areas tidy.
Some tasks we’ll do together, especially if they involve small building projects or learning new skills, while others can be done independently once you’ve been shown what to do. We enjoy sharing knowledge and are always happy to teach practical skills, whether it’s gardening, simple woodworking, or maintaining a small farm. At the same time, we’re always interested in learning from our guests and hearing about their own experiences and ideas.
No special experience is required—what matters most is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and enjoying practical, hands-on tasks, We appreciate people who can take initiative when appropriate but are also happy to be part of a team.
We want the experience to be enjoyable for everyone, with a good balance between helping out, sharing meals, and having time to explore Bornholm and relax. -

We enjoy language exchange and are always curious to learn a few words and phrases from the people who stay with us. Between us, we speak Danish, English and Portuguese (the kids and I). My husband, speaks Russian fluently. If you'd like to practise any of these languages, we're happy to help, and we'd love to learn about your language too. We think learning new languages is a fun way to connect with people and experience different cultures. -
Alojamiento
You'll stay in a comfortable glamping tent on the farm, equipped with a proper mattress, fresh bedding, and towels. The tent offers a cozy, private space where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
You'll have access to the main house for the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, so you'll have all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
We provide food and share meals together whenever possible. Our household is vegan, so all meals we cook are plant-based. Dairy products are welcome in the house if you'd like to have them, but we ask that guests do not bring or prepare meat or fish in our home. Even if you're not vegan, we hope you'll enjoy discovering some delicious plant-based meals with us! -
Algo más...
Bornholm is a fantastic island to explore, with beautiful beaches, forests, cliffs, charming villages, smokehouses, cafés, and some of Denmark's best cycling routes. Whether you enjoy hiking, swimming, cycling, or simply relaxing in nature, there's plenty to discover during your time off.
We'll do our best to provide you with a bicycle so you can easily get around, whether you're heading into Rønne, visiting the beach, or cycling to the nearest bus stop to explore other parts of the island.
We live a peaceful, family-oriented life and homeschool our children, so our days are fairly relaxed and flexible. There are always things happening around the farm, but we also value quiet time and spending time outdoors. We appreciate guests who are respectful of our home, enjoy a calm atmosphere, and are happy to communicate openly. We hope you'll feel at home here while also enjoying the freedom to explore Bornholm at your own pace. -
