The food was delicious. I liked Pat's porridge in the morning and was grateful for the Irish dishes Fidelma and Pat cooked like Irish stew for example. Both Fidelma and Pat are great cooks and I was never hungry as there is always bread and delicious cheddar cheese in the kitchen.
Also, I greatly appreciated the trips Fidelma and Pat took me on. For example, Fidelma took me to Galway and Pat walked with me to Coney Island. They are very kind and always offer to give lifts to Strandhill or Sligo which is great. That leaves me to say, thank you very much for everything. I will be back for a visit for sure!Comentarios

Fidelma and Pat took care of me so well that probably I'll be disappointed with the next hosts.

The area is rich with beautiful scenery, beaches, and mountains. Great for exploring hiking or cycling. By the way, the bikes are in excellent condition.
Most of the work was outdoors with Pat, he has the entire structure and tools to make any job easier, Pat makes the job enjoyable and fun, always in a good mood and very patient, besides giving me English lessons and good laughs while we worked.

The work was somewhat simple but sometimes challenging : mainly digging some holes for the upcoming fence, feeding the sheeps and doing some housework tasks. As Mickael said in his feedback, the most difficult part was the unpredictable rain but we used to it quickly ! You just need to bring with you a good raincoat !
Their house is located in the countryside near Sligo. The landscapes are extraordinary and and it was wonderful to discover the peaceful surrounding area by using the bike or by walking. The other work was more light housework or cleaning the garden from leaves. The work routine is 3 days work and one day off, with a clear structure, so you’ll know when you have to work an when you can relax. That worked really well for us :). In addition the area is lovely, we went most of the time to Strandhill, where you can have a beer with a tasty pizza in the pub after walking through amazing landscapes of dunes along the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a local pub, that you can reach within 20min. by walking. When we stayed, another workawayer was at Fidelmas and Pats house too and we became good friends with him. I spent two amazing weeks with Pat & Fidelma, I wish it had been longer because I felt really welcome in their house, but it wasn't possible :(

… read more Fidelma were really kind and show me around taking me to a wonderful day trip I will never forget. They also provided me information about touristic routs or special spots in the area. It was great to have the opportunity to know this part of the country with them.
My daily life was very active and busy so I never had time to get bored, but of course I did have loads of time to rest and travel around. I woke up every morning happy to know my porridge was waiting for me on the kitchen table (after leaving I even bought the same marmalade they used so I could eat that yummy breakfast again ;) ), after that we worked for two hours doing different kind of jobs like: feeding the sheep, building the fence... Pat was really kind and helpful and a great teacher when it comes to the farming techniques. He was very patient with me and always offered me help and advice.
After those two hours we would have a break to have tea and something to eat (I'm not able to explain the amount of different food they gave me, but I can tell you it was all tasty and lovely). Once the break was over we would keep up working for other two or three hours and then it was dinner time... my favourite moment of the day. Pat is a skilful chef and we always had different kind of food so we could choose and eat whatever we wanted. I never felt hungry or find something I didn't like.
Once the working day was over we had the rest of the day free to relax or explore the beautiful scenery around us. We were always more than welcome to use their bikes to hang around or just relax in the sitting room. The room where I stayed was lovely and really cozy and clean, just as the rest of the house.
Fidelma was really kind and she cared about my wellbeing almost as much as my mom does. She helped me improving my rusty English and I had great fun with her.
If you choose to go to this house you need to be aware of the following rules:
1. Never be hungry
2. Never be cold
3. Never get bored
4. Never get too stressed
This rules sum up pretty good how good and kind Fidelma and Pat are.
I already miss my friends Pat and Fidelma. Chatting about history or learning and sharing more about each other’s cultures. If I ever come back to Ireland I know I will go to Sligo to visit them because they were really nice to me and I felt as I was part of their family.
Thanks so much for everything and remember: If you ever come to the Basque Country please call me and I'll try to be a good host, just the same way you were the best hosts I could have asked for.
Best of luck,

The works are easy. Every morning we put away clean dishes from dishwasher, collect firewood and coal, clean stove and fireplace. We had breakfast. Then, we did outdoor works like: pick up hay and straw in the yard, feed the sheep, weeding and removing mud in the yard and spray gravel. Some farm works are heavier like shavel clay and stones, build a fence, fit posts in holes, which are maintenance and renovation work, and clean hay feeders, build compost, etc. Every day was slightly different, so I never got bored. Pat is really skillful and strong, and he was always working with me. He showed me lots of techniques on farm, and he always gave me clear instructions about how to work and what to do. He has very good EQ and very patient when working with me!! I gained some muscle and had good exercise in work! Also, my shaveling and racking skills improved so much!! In the middle of work, we always had a break. After work was done, he cooked a delicious meal.
Pat is very good at cooking and very knowledgeable. He knew many things like history, culture, Europe, Asia, etc. He is easygoing. Fidelma is very considerate and cared about my day and feeling. She gave and showed me Irish snacks. I had good time enjoying chocolate with her. I miss the time we together enjoying Cadbury chocolate finger, Mr. TAYTO, and Barry's Tea! We stayed with Fidelma and Pat for two weeks. We had been travelling for three straight months prior to our visit so we were ready to settle in one spot and we are so thankful it was in Stradhill. The surrounding area is beautiful and it is so accessible with their great bikes or the transport that they offered so readily, we really appreciated being able to experience Strandhill and they were always keen to help us see the sights.
