Descripción
Based in Kuranda, I live as a single bachelor and work as a commercial beekeeper operating between Cairns and Cooktown. Because my work and lifestyle involve frequent travel throughout Far North Queensland, staying here offers a unique opportunity to explore off-the-beaten-path locations that most tourists never get to see.
I regularly host solo travelers (both female and male) as well as pairs. I aim to create a relaxed, respectful, and welcoming environment where guests feel right at home while experiencing authentic tropical living.
The Work & Daily Routine
The tasks are varied, practical, and easy to pick up:
Beekeeping: Assisting with hive collection, honey extraction, and queen bee rearing (all protective gear and guidance provided).
Around the Property: General housework, basic gardening, and property maintenance.
Time to Explore & Relax
Work is usually finished early in the day, leaving plenty of free time to enjoy the local area together or independently:
Exploring Barron Gorge and swimming in local rivers and freshwater swimming holes.
Camping trips, beach days, and coastal drives north of Cairns.
Relaxing at home, sharing good food, and discovering local spots off the tourist grid.
Whether you're traveling solo or with a friend, you are very welcome. If you are interested in a genuine Australian bush and rainforest experience, feel free to send a message! -

Beekeeping is the main thing to learn here, but we also have a alternative lifestyle living in the bush away from the city were we choose the hours we work.

I've learned a lot about beekeeping!
The area is beautiful, the most beautiful place of the entire east coast if you ask me. It's definitely worth going to Bloomfield and help out around the house and with the bees.
