  We are a young family of five—two boys (12 and 10) and a fun-loving, full-of-life 9-year-old girl. My husband and I both work from home in our cosy four-bedroom house in Chittaway Bay. Before we had kids, we loved exploring the world and meeting people from different cultures. We miss that and would love to continue it in some way by welcoming like-minded travellers into our home.
  
  Life here is full of energy (and a lot of chaos!). Our boys are either completely absorbed in something or bouncing off the walls—there’s not much in between. They can be lazy or full of energy, and frustration can go from zero to a hundred in seconds. They both have ASD/ADHD, so they thrive with structure, patience, and people who get their quirks. They love Minecraft, puzzles, and LEGO.
  
  Our daughter (9) is the opposite—she’s fun-loving, full of life, and will be your best friend while you’re here. She’ll want nothing more than to spend time with you, chat, play, and learn from you. If you enjoy getting involved, she will absolutely adore you.
  
  We love our home, especially relaxing on the back deck with a glass of wine under our fairy lights. We’re based on the Central Coast, a beautiful part of New South Wales—far enough from Sydney to feel peaceful, but close enough for a quick train trip (about 1.5 hours). The beach is a 12-minute drive away, and the lake is just a 10-minute walk down the reserve. From the end of our street, you can follow a stunning lakeside walking and biking track all the way to the popular holiday spot, The Entrance. We have bikes available if you'd like to ride. There are also several national parks nearby, and Westfield Shopping Centre is just a five-minute drive.
  
  Our home is a cosy four-bedroom house with a separate backyard cabin for guests, plus a lovely deck and backyard. We also have five chickens, so fresh eggs are a bonus!
  
  We can never quite get on top of the cleaning or the gardening, and there’s always a half-finished project somewhere. But most of all, we’d just love to welcome you.
  
  Who We’re Looking For
  We need someone during the school holidays when we’re both working from home—basically, just to hang out with the kids. If you’re up for playing games, building LEGO, riding bikes, or just being an extra person to keep things fun and balanced, you’ll fit right in.
  
  It’s important that we have kind, fun-loving people who can entertain themselves during quiet times but also don’t mind being part of the family. We’re very easygoing and love having people around who enjoy life and don’t take things too seriously.
  
  We’ve hosted both couples and friends (as long as you're comfortable sharing a bed).

  We live in a relaxed and pretty region of Australia by the Coast. We hope that travellers would experience our laid back Australian lifestyle and have a bit of fun with our family. We would be happy to show you some of our nice local spots and events on the weekend, or we can suggest nice places for you to visit depending on your interest. We would hope you feel welcome with us and part of the family.
  
  For big kids we have all sorts of toys for you to play with trampoline, boogie boards, kites, bikes, paddle board, video consoles and board games.

  ABOUT THE ROLE:
  For school holidays we’re looking for someone who can spend time with our kids while we work from home. This isn't traditional childcare—it’s about keeping them engaged, playing with them, and helping them have fun during the day. It takes a special kind of person to step into this role: someone patient, energetic, and understanding of neurodiverse kids.
  
  We have three full-on, busy kids:
  * Two boys (12 and 10) ASD/ADHD, they can be hyperactive, super smart, and hard to motivate. They swing between being lazy and bursting with energy, and frustration can go from zero to a hundred in seconds. They love Minecraft, puzzles, and LEGO.
  - One girl (9) – She’s full of life, loves company, and will be your best friend while you’re here. She enjoys gymnastics, art, craft, and just doing things together.
  
  The kids can be loud, chaotic, and full-on, but they’re also funny, clever, and great to be around if you connect with them. We need someone who doesn’t mind being around them or playing with them.
  
  Also, we haven't been able to spend much time on our house and it's looking a bit, hmm, ratty :) So at the moment we are looking for people who can help us with cleaning (washing walls, windows), oiling the deck, gardening, general help around the home, and home maintenance.
  
  Cleaning / Gardening / Maintenance: It's that time of year where I'd love help washing down walls, windows, giving everything a really good scrub, oiling the deck, painting, weeding, tending to the lawn.
  
  Home-help: This will include just helping around the house, hanging out the washing and cooking meals
  
  In the past workaways generally volunteer around 5 days on 2 days off (25 hours all up), although we are flexible and the hours are spaced out to give you lots of free time. There is the opportunity to organise longer days and have more free ones too.

  Accommodation for helpers would be in our cabin out the back. The cabin is very comfortable with timber floors, single bed (at the moment but we can make it into a queen, desk, air conditioning, TV (chromecast only no reception) and you will have access to Wifi. You will have your own bathroom although you'll need to walk outside to reach it - it's about 1.5 metres from the cabin.
  
  There is public transport very close to our house, although I would suggest allowing a bit of extra cash to catch an Uber or hire a car for a day or two to give you a bit of added freedom.

  Essentially we are a busy little family and our life can be fun, hell, hectic and hilarious depending on the moment. Sometimes things are a mess and the dreaded tantrum plays into things. We would ask that helpers would be patient and understanding in our family and not mind the noise and general chaos that ensues every day.
  
  It goes without saying, but we would ask that there is no swearing, smoking, drugs or excessive drinking at our property. Generally no to visitors but can be discussed.
