Descripción
We are a couple living in a beautiful château in the French countryside with our dog, horses and donkeys.
We run a small chambre d’hôtes ( but we are not looking for help in that direction) and are gradually bringing new life to this historic place and peaceful village.
We feel very lucky to live here. The surroundings are peaceful, with open fields, forests and next to the river ‘la Meuse’ and we truly enjoy the rhythm of nature and outdoor life. -

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
We enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and welcoming guests from all over the world who come to stay at our château. Throughout the year, we host visitors from many different countries and cultures, which creates a lively and inspiring atmosphere. We love sharing meals, stories and experiences around the table. In return for your help, we offer a welcoming home, a unique setting, and the chance to experience authentic rural life in France while being part of an international environment.

Ayuda
Our château is full of character and history, but like many old houses, it always comes with projects.
At the moment (July and August), we are looking for volunteers to help with the following projects:
* Pruning water shoots from our apple trees
* Painting the façade (ideal for two or more people)
* Clearing out and cleaning an old house (requires at least two people)
* Mucking out the horse stable
Some of these projects are better suited for pairs or small groups, so we especially welcome couples, friends travelling together, or multiple volunteers. There is plenty to do, and extra helping hands are always appreciated!
There is always something to do in the countryside, and we truly appreciate motivated people who enjoy working outdoors. -

Alojamiento
Workawayers will stay in the château itself. You will have your own private bedroom with a washbasin. The bathroom is shared with other guestrooms. If there are several Workawayers at the same time, it is possible that you may share a room with one other person. We want everyone to feel comfortable and at home, and we do our best to create a respectful and relaxed living atmosphere.
We usually share meals together and see this as an important part of the experience. We cook and eat as a small community, and we expect everyone to help a little with preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards. It is all about teamwork and creating a warm, easy-going atmosphere around the table. -
Algo más...
Our village is a bit remote and not easy to reach by public transport. However, we are happy to pick you up from various train stations in Belgium or France, so getting here is no problem. We’ll make sure your journey to the château is as smooth and comfortable as possible.
