  Hello everyone!
  We are a small hostel in the little fishing village of Puerto Engabao, Ecuador. Our Hostal is equipped with 6 rooms, a communal kitchen and a small garden with chickens. We have 2 cats and 3 dogs. Only 2 hours away of Guayaquil, the largest city of Ecuador, Puerto Engabao is part of Engabao, an indigenous pueblo, where you will find consistent right breaking waves. Thus you can surf all year around which makes it the perfect spot to practice and improve your surfing (4 blocks away from the point break). We are looking for a energetic and very sociable COUPLE for basic stuff, mainly in our hostel (cleaning, organizing the kitchen, garden and helping other guest out). Since the pandemic we started teaching surfing to local girls and boys with limited resources and lack of opportunities in our community. The project that started small began to grow fast and caught the attention of some Swiss friends who later on built a skatepark. Thanks to them we have one now! ❤️🇨🇭 The girls and boys have another sport to enjoy! Every night the skatepark and football field is filled by enthusiastic kids that enjoy their time doing sports with their friends. Since our surf classes and the skatepark a lot of kids have started to do sports and be active. We are very happy to see this positive change in the local community.. We feel obligated to improve the quality and future prospects of the local children, to make a sustainable change in the Ecuadorian culture in Puerto Engabao. The reason, I, Daniel (the host of the Hostal) started this project is because I had some helping hands in my teenage years which had a huge positive impact in my adulthood. Today I hope to make a positive change in a lot of young lives here in Engabao with my project.
  
  In general Puerto Engabao is a very quiet and authentic place with few tourists. Thus the town does not have much nightlife "bars, discos etc" but it does have good shrimp and fish. 🦐🦈 The locals are very kind and friendly and are always welcoming a helping hand.
  Just 20 minutes away in Villamil Playas you find the best right hand waves in Ecuador, 🌊 no wetsuit is needed! Occasionally we take guests to surf there when Puerto Engabao is big enough (7 feet/2m).
  
  PLEASE NOTE: We are not a party hostel (but we do throw parties once in a while)! 🤪 We are more of a surf and skate hostel (Sports in general). We enjoy to spend our time with our guest, friends and local kids .

  There is not many people in town that speak English so you will be practicing your Spanish. Also the kids (and adults) are very curious and ask a lot of questions. Therefore it is easy to build up a good connection with the locals. Obviously you will also improve your surfing and skateboarding whilst staying here.

  We are looking for a energetic and very sociable COUPLE for basic stuff mainly in our hostel ( cleaning, organizing at the kitchen, garden and helping other guest out ) and also teach English, surf , skateboarding or any other sport. The goal is to motivated the kids but specifically the girls of the community (7 to 15 years old ) to do sports, teach discipline while having fun. It is a known problem in Ecuador (in general in Latin America) that the lack of knowledge and activities lead to early pregnancies. With our project we hope to bring new future prospects and self-confidence to the local kids. Your work will be no more than 4 hours a day or less, depending on the daily tasks and swell.
  
  In exchange we provide you a private room with shared bathroom. The food is not included however there are a few cheap restaurants in town. Or you can also cook your own food in the comunal kitchen.

  In your free time you can enjoy a good book, do yoga on our terrace or check out the nearby town of Playas. Go surfing, skateboarding or play football or basket with the locals. Our wifi is very good which makes it possible to work for digital nomads.
