  Hi! We are a family living on a beautiful countryside ranch surrounded by forests in western Latvia, about 100 km from Riga.
  
  Our home is a peaceful place for people who love nature, animals and outdoor life. We share the property with deer, alpacas, sheep, goats, dogs and other animals. There is also a large pond where you can swim, fish, use a SUP or simply relax by the water.
  
  We usually welcome 1–4 Workawayers at a time and would like you to feel part of our everyday family life rather than simply a visitor.
  
  For us, Workaway is primarily about cultural exchange. We enjoy meeting people from different countries, spending time together, sharing stories and traditions, practising languages and learning about different ways of life. We are also interested in learning from our visitors — about your country, culture, language, hobbies and skills.
  
  There are some light everyday activities around our private home, garden and animals, and whenever possible we do these things together with our Workawayers. This may include spending time with and feeding the animals, light gardening, keeping shared areas tidy or other simple seasonal activities.
  
  Our guest accommodation rental activity is completely separate from Workaway. Workawayers are not asked to clean, prepare or maintain rental lodges or help with guests.
  
  In your free time you can enjoy the forest, pond, fishing, SUP, sauna and hot tub, spend time with the animals or explore western Latvia.
  
  We hope to create a relaxed and friendly environment where both our family and our visitors can learn something from each other and enjoy life in the Latvian countryside.

  Living with us is an opportunity to experience everyday life in the Latvian countryside, surrounded by forests, water and animals.
  
  You can learn about caring for deer, alpacas and other animals, gardening, caring for a countryside property, fishing and outdoor life. We are also happy to exchange languages, traditions, stories and experiences with people from different countries.
  
  In your free time you can explore western Latvia. Talsi is nearby, the beautiful historic town of Kuldīga and its famous waterfall are within driving distance, and the Baltic Sea is about an hour away.
  
  We want our Workawayers to have enough free time to explore Latvia, enjoy nature and experience life outside the usual tourist routes.

  Ayuda

  We welcome Workawayers to share everyday life with our family and help with light activities around our private home, garden and animals.
  
  The activities are varied and depend on the season, our daily life and each Workawayer’s interests. They may include:
  
  • feeding and spending time with our animals;
  • walking and playing with our dogs;
  • light gardening, watering plants and planting flowers;
  • collecting leaves and keeping small areas around our private home tidy;
  • helping to keep shared spaces organised and clean;
  • spending time with our children, playing games or doing creative activities;
  • language exchange with our family and children;
  • occasional cooking together and sharing recipes from our different cultures;
  • creative activities, photography or other hobbies you would like to share with us.
  
  We normally do these activities together with our Workawayers. We do not expect volunteers to replace professional workers, and cultural exchange is the main reason we host.
  
  We are always interested in learning something from our visitors too — about your language, food, traditions, hobbies and life in your country.
  
  All Workaway activities are limited to our private family life, home, garden and animals. We do not ask Workawayers to clean, prepare or maintain our rental lodges or to help with guests or any other business-related activities.

  Alojamiento

  You will stay in a comfortable private cabin surrounded by forest and nature, with a beautiful view of the water. The cabin has hot and cold water, a private toilet and shower, and a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.
  
  Please note that food is not provided, so Workawayers are responsible for buying and preparing their own food. We can help with transportation to shops when needed.
  
  There is also a barbecue area outside.
  
  During your free time you can enjoy the lake, SUP, fishing, sauna and hot tub, spend time with our animals or simply relax in the forest.

  We live in a quiet countryside location surrounded by forest, so this experience is best suited to people who enjoy nature and life away from the city.
  
  Workawayers have plenty of free time to explore the area or simply enjoy the ranch. You can use the lake, SUP, fishing equipment, sauna and hot tub, walk in the forest and spend time with the animals.
  
  We are about 10–15 minutes by car from Talsi. The Baltic Sea, Kuldīga and many beautiful natural places in western Latvia can be visited on days off.
  
  Food is not provided. You will have your own equipped kitchen and can buy and prepare whatever you prefer. We can help with trips to the supermarket when needed.
  
  Because we live in the countryside, having a driving licence is a big advantage. A car may be available for Workawayers to use by prior agreement, depending on availability and driving experience.
  
  We value independent, responsible people who are comfortable living in nature and who treat our home, animals and property with care.

  We have plenty of private land and enough space for campervans of different sizes. Please contact us in advance so we can arrange the most suitable place to park.
