Update:
Looking for a handy person for September 2026.
We are a family (myself David, my sister Dominique and our mom Maria) trying to manage a big piece of land just by ourselves.
We host people and friends in the summer but sometimes it's too busy for us to manage and I (David) live in Spain so I can't be there so often.
We are looking for someone to help us with cleaning, checking-in our guests and clean the swimming pool. That's it. In exchange you get to stay in one of the studios and use the pool. No meals are included but we can discuss other tasks.
We are looking for someone who can stay for the summer (july and august) preferably.
Our guests usually stay for a week and we have between 6 and 8 guests each summer. It's not like you'll have to check someone in and out every day. Also, they should leave the house clean. Most times we just need someone to confirm everything was left in good shape and it's ready for the next ones. We do need you to leave fresh bed linen and shower towels so you will need to do the laundry (there's a washer and plenty of place to hang it).
We do not make any money from holiday rentals or anything. We simply host our friends or people that exchange their homes with us (with Home Exchange).
As a plus, it would be perfect to find someone that can help with small tasks and fix things around the farm, like:
-installing a mosquito net on the windows,
-repairing a tile on the floor,
-fixing a wood bench that is missing a board,
-fixing small stuff,
-some paint jobs,
-etc... -

We all speak portuguese and french. I (David) also speak english and spanish which may help during messaging but I won't be in the farm during the summer. My sister Dominique also speaks some english.
You can expect little interaction with Maria and Dominique as you will be autonomous. -
Ayuda
We are looking for someone to help us meet and greet our guests and clean the swimming pool. That's pretty much it. Guests are supposed to clean after their stay but sometimes they don't clean properly so you will have to take care of that. (last year 2025 this only happened twice.)
On average it will take a couple of hours a day and you don't have to be there everyday. As long as the bungalows are ready for check-in and the swimming pool is clean and you can organize the rest of the days as you wish.
We will share the check-in and check-out dates much in advance so you can plan ahead.
These are not paying guests. Most are from home swaps that we do with Home Exchange and others are friends of ours. -

Alojamiento
You will stay in small studio with your own bathroom and kitchen. It's small and it gets pretty warm during the summer. We can provide a fan because there is no A/C. You can do groceries and cook your own meals.
You can also stay in one of the bungalows while they are available, as long and you keep them clean and they are ready when our guests arrive. -
Algo más...
A car is great to have because there is hardly any public transportation. If you don't have one, we can pick you up from the train station (Marco, 16 km away).
You can walk to the nearest village (Sande) but it's a steep walk back, especially with groceries.
This farm is close to the Douro River. You can hike for around 5 km to a river beach called Vimieiro. There is another one further away (11 km) called Bitetos which is much better with a café/lounge next to it.
There are some buses running from Sande to Marco (de Canaveses) and you can walk to Marco's train station. That way you can get on the train to Porto (1 hour) or even to the heart of the Douro wine and Port wine region (Pinhão / Régua). The train ride to Pinhão offers a spetacular view of the river and and the vineyards. I would say it's well worth the day trip. -

There is a portable wifi hotspot for the bungalows.

There is small camping site where you can park the car/camper/motorhome with a kitchen area, bathroom and barbecue. You are welcome to use the tennis court next to it but it's pretty old. Of course you can always sleep in the studio if you prefer.

Podría aceptar mascotas
We don't mind accepting pets as long as you clean up after them. We have two dogs in the farm (Amy and Kika) and Amy does get along with other female dogs. This means you can bring your female dog but we will need to make sure they do not meet unsupervised.
