Hello Everyone - we are Mark, a semi-retired(ish) maths and English teacher and Kanani, an artist and grower. Spring is here and there's lots of land work to do. It's a beautiful time of year and a beautiful place to come to.
We have been lucky enough to live on a wonderful 5 1/2 hectare lifestyle block, rich with native life, for the last 16 years. There always projects to be undertaken both inside and out. We are lively, curious, kind and welcoming 64/65 year olds, with adult children who are sometimes here. We live 10kms from the nearest shop and 30kms from the nearest town.

We both love languages and are happy to share. Español is the gold standard! Art and music feature strongly in our lives. We are involved in many activities and people are welcome to join in.

There's always garden tasks to be done and lots of house tasks as it's quite a big 200 m2 house. We make our own firewood so being able to help with that is great! We try to keep our land clear of pest plants so general forest care is important. Sometimes we start new landscaping projects. Every year brings new ideas. Practical skills are always valued. We have picked up many skills and we are always happy to share.
Right now, we're looking at moving some fencing (easy work for 2 people) and tidying up fields by piling up tree debris after we had non-natives on the boundary cut down.

    Algo más...

We can often help with lifts to other places at the weekend or you can do things with us.
There are 2 pubs within 10kms and this is a great place if you like hiking. The coast is within 5 kms and there is a great bike trail. There is a seabird centre about 5ms away which is very popular. Thames and Pukekohe are about 35 kms away and the Coromandel Peninsula is wonderful if you have a car.
