I am originally from England, arriving in NZ with a back-pack but have now lived here for many years. My 3 adult kids have been workawayers in their time and I thought I could repay a little of the hospitality they experienced. My home is a quiet and comfortable space to spend time in (I think so anyway!) which I share with my cat, Pippi.
The help is not too hard - mostly cleaning around the house, cooking some meals and weeding in the garden. Approx 4 hours per day, 5x days per week, but flexible around this too.
The room I have available only has one double bed, (so friends would need to share). There is one bathroom which you would share with me.
I live in Onehunga, close to the airport and on good direct bus routes into the city. Walking distance to shops, banks, supermarkets and cafes. Plus lots of charity shops (Op shops) to buy second hand items if you're starting your travels.
I can only host for a week or max 2 but my home could be a good place to begin or end your stay in NZ.

General weeding and tidying up in the garden. Mowing the grass. Cooking the evening meal would be a high priority for me as cooking is not my favourite activity, although I can if needed!
Any tidying up and cleaning in the house (there is always something needing to be done).

The house is in a quiet suburb very close to public transport to the city centre. Easy access to Cornwall Park, One Tree Hill` and views of the city. The Manukau Harbour foreshore is walking distance away. Shops, cafes, bus and train nearby. Happy to share my knowledge of Auckland and NZ . Just ask me about other activities and places to go. Happy to help.

It was a pleasure to have Juliane stay with me for a short time. I had several household jobs which needed doing which Juliane completed efficiently. She worked independently and I was confident in her abilities to do the tasks I asked of her.

It was great to have Bethany around helping out at my home. She fitted in easily to my household, was independent and willingly did the jobs I asked of her. I especially appreciated her cooking skills and she kindly also made vegan meals for my son and partner with a new baby.
