Nau mai haere mai 🤗
Welcome.
I love people who have that natural urge to want to help others. For me I work best with people who can take the initiative and help where needed. Like you would at home, with your own family.
Mostly, I’m looking for people I can teach earth building to. It’s really easy to learn and do, very relaxing too. I need help to finish my plastering my house. We will mix some colours into the clay and lime plasters to finish and paint the outside of the house.
After that I would really like some help to create and plant some vegetables gardens and fruit trees around my house. Maybe even build a pizza oven from clay, pumice and sand.
I live on my papakainga (ancestral lands) in Whanganui Bay with my family. It’s holidays now so there’s quite a lot of people camping. And Whanganui Bay is reserved for those unique people who can thrive in a remote setting. It’s like a glamping style experience, open fires, gas cooking, bathing in the lake, using a generator for any electrical needs. So if you’re into that then you’ll love it here.

What working with us looks like….
Earth building:
Collect materials and learn how to build an earth-house. We have an electrical mixer that speeds up the process and makes the job very easy. We can mix manually for fun if you’re that kind of person. There isn’t that much work that needs to be done before completion.
Garden:
Help me create a maara kai (food garden) and orchard.
Pizza oven:
I plan to make a pizza oven with the left over clay and pumice.

Traverse the Tongariro crossing and climb Mt Doom for “Lord Of The Rings”fans. Experience geothermal walks and relax in the hot pools in Tokaanu, Taupō and Rotorua - all within an hours drive.
Expectations:
We have young children so we expect our home to be treated respectfully.
We are easy going, adventurous, respectful, kind and loving people.
We like to socialise with our family and have heaps of fun.
Because we live on our Māori ancestral lands, at anytime an occasion can be called for an event that we will participate in and afterwards eat and celebrate with the family. Which you are welcome to attend.
Sometimes we have school groups that visit us for outdoor education.Un poco más de información
