We are a community based organization in Ruai Kenya, that aims to empower and support special needs
individuals and their primary caregivers. We try to reintegrate them into the community as independent and productive citizens.
In our organization we deal with children with mental disability such as , cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, down syndrome just to name a few.
In Kenya Cerebral palsy is known as the silent disability in Kenyan homes, as most parents encounter stigmatization and the conditions are linked to factors like witchcraft and family inherited curses and therefore majority of parents
tend to hide their children from the society..
We offer a safe space where they can freely and talk about challenges they face from having children with disabilities
Developing initiatives such as education support, agriculture, micro-finance, health care, sports and adding value to existing efforts designed to strengthen community
Offer mentorships sessions and life skills they require to empower themselves .
Make home visits and help them with household chores and give them few basic items they need as of people in the area are small scale farmers(home use) ,we therefore try give them new ideas on farming there to increase yields

They will meet local volunteers and in turn they will know the local language and know local way of living and it will assist them in their future plans.
They will learn about how our community is, the challenges we face and then they should learn a lot of things and it will change their perspectives on life as its said experience is the best teacher.
They will also learn how to make local dishes as well like Ugali ,,Chapati, Githeri among others
We operate in Ruai Kenya and most of the people here are living in poverty ,illiteracy and unemployment so it becomes very difficult for people with mental health to get help.
We are requesting volunteers long term and short who have skills in farming, animal care, water conservation/irrigation methods, Medical experts/pediatric doctors, website making, business administration, psychology knowledge or mental health experts, any health professional, photographer, a good proposal writer or someone who has experience with associations. We would also like volunteers who are interested in community work.

I enjoy learning different languages as it makes me understand different cultures and helps in creating a good experience for volunteers
We have two homes where the volunteers can stay and they will share one room if they are males or females they will have their own privacy and security guaranteed in a place where they will like because compound is good and its accessible.
We shall provide our volunteers with food 3 meals a day and in line with that the volunteer will learn how to make local dishes.
They might go for a basketball match , take nature walks. We are also located 35.4km from Nairobi City which is accessible via bus, "Matatu" and Uber where they can visit our city.
In addition to that they can as well visit local animal orphanages that are close within the vicinity of Nairobi eg giraffe center
