Tasks around the farm are like:
*Carpentry skills such Making wooden beds, shelves, table etc

    * DIY / Construction help. That would involve bricks, cement, and wood.
    * Help assisting my husband to build roof and pen for the goats

    * Help on clearing the bushes and tree branches.

    * Upgrading the outdoor pizza oven

    * Gardening although our garden is ruined by the last thunderstorm

    * Entertaining our boys (12yo&8yo) with creative projects/activities.

Projects we would like to do:
    * Build basketball ring and the platform

    * Build outdoor toilet

Hello we are mix family : Ritney from Indonesia, Luch from Italy and two boys Niko 12yo and Leon 8yo. We have 2 dogs, many rescued cats, flock of chickens ,3 adult goats and 4 babies goat, and 6 cows!
We are homesteading in 4 hectares rancho/farm with mango trees, 10 km from the beach named Puerto Arista in Chiapas coast Mexico.
We would like to be self sustainable. We creating organic farm with no chemical use on the land.

I require minimum of 2 weeks stay. We expect 3 hours help/day, 5 days a week in the morning NO LATER THAN 8 AM before it gets too hot. Morning routine is very important in our farm .

You will be responsible for acquiring your own food. Having said that, we are happy to share the food we have such rice, beans, eggs and fresh cow milk. We will take you to the supermarket/fruit and vegetables market with our car once a week.

Having pizza night or fish barbecue, going to the beach together, experiencing body boarding with the wave, watching movies together or karaoke-ing ...are also part of our family rhythm that we are enjoy to share with you .

This area is well-known for their livestock such cows, locally made fresh cheese, fish, shrimp and prawns. Many affordable local restaurants serves dishes made from shrimp and fish.
This area also surrounded by mango plantations.

In general the weather here is hot. Even during the rainy season can be humid hot. After all it's a seaside town.
November to January is warm during the day and cooler in the night. The beach is at it best during this time, Calmer.
February to March is starting to get hot. During the day and sometimes at night too.
The hottest month is in april. That's when our mango trees give fruits. May is humid hot with little rain.
June is start the rainy season until October.

The raining season here means it rain in the afternoon or in the night. During the day the sun is shining so you still can do activities or go to the beach.

If you can appreciate the warm weather, the breeze that comes through the trees to our rancho, the nature, the beach, the mango season, fresh raw cow milk, fresh fish and shrimp from the fisherman... Then I think you'll like it here

I notice that some work awayer wants to practice their Spanish language. Although we fluent in Spanish, we are Italian-Indonesian family. We speak either Italian, and English. I sometimes speak Indonesian with my children. Thus our household is not ideal for Spanish language immersion.

You'll experience organic homestead living. I can show you how we make our own mozzarella cheese, cream cheese and yogurt from fresh milk, making mango jam when it's season, baking bread/pizza/focaccia (Italian style).
You can converse with us and our children in 3 different languages (Italian, Spanish, English). You can enjoy seaside living and farm living at the same time.

Sometimes we don't have any creative project in mind or rather most of projects listed already completed, but the farm still running and in need of maintenance such:
    * Bushes / trees/ branches clearance around the property, 3 hours of physical demanding. For some this can be boring but for us is very essential, highly appreciated and such a big help

*Wooden fence fixing, to keep the cows inside the property.

Although Our rancho is located in the countryside it's quite convenient. Within walking distance, on the main road you can find small grocery shop, beer kiosk, cheese shop, coffee shop where they have a nice outdoor setting to chill, and affordable family run restaurant.
If you want night life, more restaurants and entertainment you can go to Puerto Arista or tonala town.
From our rancho The beach is 10km away, straight road. Tonala town with supermarkets and shopping mall/cinema is also 10km away. You can take public transport for 30 pesos one way (about 1.50euro).

There is Tonala ruins called iglesia vieja if you like hiking.
There is laguna called boca del cielo if you prefer calm water .
