Descripción
We warmly invite volunteers to join us in caring for our land in the mountains of southern Chile, near Pucón. From here you can enjoy spectacular views of Lake Caburgua and Villarrica Volcano, and we are within walking distance of Huerquehue National Park. It is a very remote and peaceful retreat, an ideal place to disconnect from distractions and deeply connect with nature.
Our land includes a couple of cabins, forest trails, sitting areas, and scenic lookouts. One of its treasures is an endemic Chilean mixed forest with trees over 300 years old, a rare and beautiful place to work and spend time in. The house, cabañas, and other structures are built in harmony with their surroundings, blending into the landscape.
We are not a commercial project. Occasionally we rent one cabin to help cover maintenance costs, but our main purpose is simply to care for the land and enjoy its beauty. At the moment, I am also very busy finishing the construction of my house, which is why we especially value Workawayers who are independent, resourceful, and comfortable spending time in nature

Wenu Mapu is a wonderful place to experience the Chilean countryside in its most natural form. Here you can immerse yourself in a pristine endemic forest with centuries-old trees, abundant wildlife, and an amazing diversity of birds. The richness of the landscape offers not only beauty but also a sense of deep peace and serenity.
In addition to daily life on the land, you’ll have the chance to learn practical skills related to rural living, land care, and maintenance — while also sharing the knowledge and abilities you already bring.
During your free time, you can explore the surrounding nature: the trails and lakes of Huerquehue National Park, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tinquilco, and many other hidden corners of the Araucanía mountains.
We speak Spanish and English, and we are always happy to help you practice and improve your Spanish if you wish
Ayuda
I made some changes analyze : We welcome people who share an interest in healthy, conscious living and who want to both learn and share.
Our main goal is to keep this land, forest, and its life well cared for. Tasks vary with the seasons and always include maintenance. Possible activities:
• Stacking firewood
• Painting and staining wood
• Trail and campsite upkeep
• Planting trees
• Road repairs
• Maintaining drinking water systems
• Repairing fences
• Wildfire prevention work
• General cleaning
We don’t have animals or pets. There is a small greenhouse that provides some vegetables, and permaculture projects are always welcome.
Skills especially welcome:
• Carpentry
• Construction
• Plumbing
• Permaculture & gardening
• Trail upkeep
• General maintenance
• Forestry
Because I am currently very busy finishing the construction of my house, I don’t have to much time to train people step by step. At this time, we are only looking for volunteers who already have hands-on experience, practical skills, and can work independently.
Work Schedule
About 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. Minimum stay: 1 week (possible to extend if it’s a good fit).
Food
• We don’t provide meals, but we give you money for groceries.
• Volunteers buy food in Pucón (I will be going down at least once a week)
• You may harvest fresh greens from the greenhouse, depending on the season.
• If you have a special or expensive diet, you must cover the difference yourself. There are no shops nearby, so please bring what you need.
Connectivity & Remoteness
• There is no internet on the property. Movistar cell signal works, but it is not always reliable. Volunteers should have their own data plan.
• This is a very remote location — no shops, no neighbors to close . It’s an opportunity to disconnect and fully connect with nature.
• Best suited for couples or friends traveling together. If you come alone, you must feel comfortable spending some time in solitude.
Other Details
• In summer (Jan–Feb), open fires are not allowed unless it rains heavily.
• We like to have a quick call (Skype or WhatsApp) before confirming a stay, to make sure it’s a good fit.
• Hosting Workawayers is mainly my responsibility, though my parents also live here and share the space. Please respect their privacy.
What to Bring
• Warm clothes for cool nights
• Good shoes for outdoor work
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Willingness to work and share

I am also interested in learning Portuguese. If you are a Portuguese speaker and would like to share some language exchange during your stay, that would be wonderful.
Alojamiento
You will have your own private room in a comfortable cabin reserved only for Workaway volunteers. The cabin includes a bathroom and a kitchen equipped with basic cookware, a stove, and a refrigerator.
• There is movistar cellphone signal on the property.
• Please note: we do not have internet in the cabin. if you need Wi-Fi for long periods of time every day, this is probably not the best place for you to volunteer.
Algo más...
We live about 25 miles (40 km) from Pucón, which can be reached by bus. When you arrive, I can pick you up at the bus stop and bring you to Wenu Mapu.
Huerquehue National Park
Just 5 km (3 miles) from Wenu Mapu lies the border of Huerquehue National Park, a true natural paradise of dense forests, mountains, and icy streams that have carved deep canyons over thousands of years. The park’s dramatic geography includes steep hills rising to 2,000 meters, glacial ravines, and an abundance of pristine waters. Inside you’ll find 17 lagoons and small lakes, countless waterfalls, and breathtaking views of snow-capped volcanoes and the Lakes Region.
Huerquehue is a sanctuary for the ancient Araucaria tree (Monkey Puzzle tree), along with extensive Nothofagus forests. It is also home to a remarkable diversity of birds — from ducks on the lakes to the majestic Magellanic woodpecker, which you may spot with patience and a little luck.
Whether for a day hike or a multi-day camping trip, the park offers a unique chance to experience the wild beauty of southern Chile up close.
