I spent almost 2 months with this absolutely lovely family. They are incredibly genuine, honest and hard-working people who are extremely welcoming and very used to travelers/are travelers themselves.

Chris and Phil were very kind to host me for a week
at their place. I enjoyed very much the scenery around
Derrynane and did some jobs outdoors on their property.
We had a nice time together as it happened to be St. Patrick's
Day so we went to Sneem which is the closest bigger village around.

good experience in the countryside in Kerry so if you are looking for a
host I would highly recommend to help Chris and Phil as they are very kind people.

When Andrew arrived we didn't know how long he might like to stay, and 8 months later, Andrew decided to continue his travelling, having become part of the family in the meantime! Andrew is a complete pleasure to host. He's capable, hardworking, easy going and sociable. He generally used his own initiative and just got stuck into tasks he could
… read more see needed doing, like clearing land, making gates to prevent our donkeys escaping, doing DIY and 101 other things. He is a hardworking, but more importantly just good company. He has a can do attitude, and enjoys engaging people, becoming a much integrated member of our village through rowing and socialising with the neighbours. Any host out there, you'd be lucky to have Andrew as a workaway! A complete star! Couldn't recommend highly enough and welcome back to his new Irish family anytime!

… read more Southern Ireland are some of the most picturesque wonderfull places in Ireland. I was lucky enough to be welcomed into this small awesome community and became part of the local Traditional coastal rowing team, as part of the Seine boat crew !
I made so many friends during my time with Chris,Phil, Aibhie, Tilly and Solice ( the dogs ) Two donkeys,chickens and a fantastic spot above Derrynane beach. My work included clearing, Gorse,Gunnera,Brambles,weeds, making pathways,building gates, clearing buildings of years of overgrowth and numerous outdoor tasks, plus feeding animals,cleaning up after donkeys etc.

Ivannia and Arturo are a delightful couple who were a pleasure to host. They are easy going, responsible and kind, quick to help and get involved in whatever activity comes their way. They were always courteous and polite and quick to learn. We'd highly recommend them to any other host. Welcome back anytime!
Our experience doing a workaway in the home of Philomena, Chris and Aibhie exceeded all the limits of our expectations. The family was very kind and attentive to all our needs and queries, they advised us about the activities and places we could visit and they also taught us the routine of the animals very well during the time we were together.
