  Welcome to our family in Gifu city, Japan
  Hi! Thank you for visiting our profile.
  Here is some information about our family and our place I would like to share to see if we are a perfect much to each other,
  so please read it through patiently.
  
  Our family is now going through an exciting new chapter in life, and we are looking for someone who would enjoy sharing everyday life with us — not just as a helper, but as a part of the family.
  
  ●About Us
  We are a family of five living in Gifu City - centrally located in Japan, with a good balance of mountains, rivers and town life.
  Our house is close to the big train station (15-minute by walking)
  
  We have three children:
  • 14-year-old son
  He is currently homeschooling preparing to enter correspondence high school next year.
  • 12-year-old daughter
  She enjoys Bouldering and Karate after school. She also belongs to the Track and Field club at school. Shy but active.
  • 10-year-old son
  He goes to school from around 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. very social and amicable boy.
  
  ●Why We Need You?
  Until March 2026, I worked as a high school English teacher for 15 years.
  Recently, I left teaching job and started my own business as an online English coach, so that I can give my kids more secure and stable environment and be a supportive Mom for them. At the same time, I slightly injured my right arm, so daily household chores currently take me longer than usual. Because of this, I’m hoping to welcome someone who can support our daily life while experiencing real Japanese family life with us.
  
  ●What We Would Appreciate Help With
  1 ) Simple daily chores around house mainly in the morning.
  Examples include:
  • Feeding our rabbit and cleaning the litter tray
  • Vacuuming or mopping the first floor
  • Cleaning the kitchen sink and bathroom
  • Light gardening and weeding
  • Helping with fun home projects (like building a BBQ stove in the garden!)
  
  2) Helping me with Instagram & social media
  I share parts of our daily life and cultural exchange on Instagram as part of my coaching business and lifestyle branding.
  It would be wonderful if you:
  • feel comfortable occasionally appearing in photos/videos
  • don’t mind helping film small moments of daily life
  • enjoy cultural exchange and creative projects
  - Nothing professional is required at all.
  
  3)Companion for the children
  You do not need to be a babysitter or tutor.
  You can naturally spend time with the children in English through everyday activities like:
  chatting, watching TV together, playing video games or card games, going for walks, or just relaxing and having fun together.
  
  ●English & Daily Communication
  English naturally exists in our daily life.
  We would love our children to experience English communication in a relaxed, natural way — through conversation, games, meals, or everyday moments. You do not need to be a tutor or babysitter. Just be a part of the home and communicate naturally in English or Japanese with them.
  
  ●Daily Life at Home
  Once my children go to school, daytime can be quiet, so after the chores are finished, your time is mostly free.
  So you are welcome to:
  • use my bicycle exploring local cafés and shops,
  • take the buses into town or take trains to other cities (to Nagoya, the biggest cities in the area, it takes 25minutes by train)
  • enjoy quiet personal time at home or chat with me (I'm so happy to do language exchanges!)
  
  In the late afternoon, the children come home and the house becomes more lively again.
  We usually eat dinner together around 6 pm and enjoy chatting about our day.
  On weekends, we:
  • go bouldering (weekday evenings, twice in a week)
  • go hiking
  • visit local places
  • go fishing
  • relax and play games together
  • bake cookies and sweets

  Gifu City is a town of nature and history, situated in the center of Japan, with Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka all just one or two hours away by train. The town has lots of cafés, and you can walk along the river, visit a castle, go on a hiking enjoying a relaxed atmosphere.
  
  ●Why We Love Cultural Exchange ?
  For our family, hosting is not only about help around the house.
  We love to enjoy learning from people with different cultures, values, and life experiences.
  
  I personally studied abroad in France and later spent a year in the U.S. doing an internship supporting language learners.
  Those experiences changed my perspective and made my world much bigger and richer.
  Because of that, I hope my children can also experience “real” communication and naturally become curious about the world beyond Japan through everyday life with Workawayers.
  
  At the same time, I hope you can also experience a genuine side of Japanese family life — not as a tourist, but as someone sharing daily moments, conversations, meals, adventures, and ordinary life with us.
  
  We might not be a perfect family or a luxury homestay. But we hope to offer a warm, genuine experience of daily life in Japan.

  ・ A public bathhouse and coin-operated laundry are nearby.

  • Lunch is flexible — please feel free to prepare something simple from food at home
  • Dinner is always shared together with us
  
  ●Accommodation
  You will stay in a private attic room connected to part of our family space.
  Bathroom and other spaces are shared.
