  Hello future volunteer,
  
  I'm Vladimir, Owner of a group of properties in Panama and Nicaragua.
  
  Where you'll be
  Isla Saboga, in the Pearl Islands, a 1.5-hour ferry ride from Panama City. A small island with beaches, forest and a quiet local community. No crowds, no traffic, no rush.
  
  What we look after here
  We have two properties on the island, and volunteers help across both depending on what's happening that week:
  
  a small lodge currently under restoration, quieter place to stay.
  a private villa a short walk from its own beach, where our guests stay at the moment.
  
  Having two places means your days vary: some weeks are about welcoming guests and keeping the villa impeccable, others about getting the lodge ready. You won't be doing the same thing every day.
  
  How we work
  
  We're a small team and everyone helps where needed. There's no rigid hierarchy and no front desk. You'll be trained properly when you arrive, you'll have written instructions, and you'll never be left alone with a problem: if something goes wrong, you report it and we solve it together.
  
  What matters most to us is someone independent, observant and warm with guests. If you also have practical hands for small maintenance, plumbing or electrics, that's a real plus here.
  
  Being honest about island life
  Life here runs on island time. The ferry doesn't run every day, shops are very limited and plans depend on the weather. There's no nightlife. What there is: the sea, walks, silence, incredible sunsets and a pace of life most people never get to experience.

  Travellers will benefit from a cultural exchange by experiencing daily life in a small island community in Panama and becoming part of a close-knit team.
  
  They will learn about local culture, island lifestyle, and how a small eco-lodge operates on a day-to-day basis. This includes practical hospitality experience such as guest service, teamwork, and supporting daily operations in a real working environment.
  
  They will also have the opportunity to improve language skills (English and Spanish), share knowledge with the local team, and learn about sustainability practices in a remote island setting.
  
  Overall, it is a hands-on experience that combines cultural exchange, teamwork, and learning through real involvement in the project.

  Ayuda

  As a volunteer, you'll help us look after two properties on the island: a small lodge currently under restoration and a private villa where our guests stay. Your days vary depending on what's happening that week, so you won't be doing the same thing every day.
  
  Guest reception
  
  Preparing the house before arrivals and doing a final check that everything is in place.
  Welcoming guests, showing them around and explaining how things work.
  Sharing local recommendations: beaches, boats, food, things to do on the island.
  Assisting with check-out and reporting the condition of the house afterwards.
  
  Keeping the properties beautiful
  
  Daily check of common areas: living room, kitchen, terrace and pool area, tidy and guest-ready.
  Gardening and outdoor upkeep.
  Helping with recycling and compost.
  Keeping supplies organized and telling us before anything runs out.
  
  Small maintenance
  Changing a bulb, unclogging a drain, tightening a fitting, resetting the breaker, touching up paint, small fixes around the house and garden.
  Basic handyman skills are a real advantage here. If you know your way around plumbing or electrics, tell us in your application, it will make your profile stand out.
  Nothing dangerous or structural. Bigger jobs go to our own team and suppliers, and you'll never be asked to take on a repair you don't feel confident with.
  
  Daily reporting
  Logging the daily cleaning and checks in our operations app. We'll train you on your first day; it takes a few minutes and it's how we keep quality consistent.
  Reporting any issue as soon as you spot it, with a photo. Early reporting is the most valuable thing you can do for us.
  
  What we're looking for
  Independence, attention to detail, warmth with guests and discretion about their stay. Good spoken English is essential, basic Spanish helps. A working smartphone for the daily reporting. No previous hospitality experience needed: we value responsibility and willingness far more than a CV.
  
  Most days are calm. Arrival and departure days are concentrated and busy. Both are part of the rhythm here, and if there are no guests, your workload is minimal.

  Alojamiento

  You'll have private room with queen bed and private restroom, bed linen and towels provided, and access to the laundry area for your own clothes.
  
  Full meals board with access to the kitchen to prepare your own food, and to the common areas when there are no guests staying. Wifi is available, and water are included.
  
  Two honest notes. These are active properties, so during guest stays your room is your private space and the common areas belong to our guests. And this is an island: shops are very limited, so bring anything you consider essential with you.

  On the island you can partake in a variety of local activities such as: fishing, kayaking, paddle board, island hopping and exploration, hiking in the jungle, archaeological sites to discover and beach hopping (7 beaches to choose from).
