We are a german couple (47/55) and stayed on Mariellas and Bernds place almost two month. First we thought that we would stay one but we felt in love with the place and so we decided to stay one more month. We lived in the cottage next to the house. It has a living room with a stove, a sleeping room, a small but well equipped kitchen and a small
… read more bathroom. Tatjana and I felt very comfortable in it. Because we stayed from the end of November till mid of Januaray it was wintertime and so we had to warm up the rooms with a wooden stove.
The garden we had to looked for is full of olive-trees a little wineyard and some for these region typical plants.
Florian the gardener pruned all the olive-trees and our job was to saw the branches for fire wood. During rainy days we made some smaller repairs.
The place is marvellous and if you love the nature and want to stay by your own this is the right place for you.
Although we never saw Mariella or Bernd face to face. Mariella was every time present and we never have problems to get in contact with her, if we had needed.
We would say thank you Mariella and Bernd for the possibility to stay on your wonderful peaceful place.
We definitely recommended this host and the place.
P.S.: We had our pedelacs with us to explore the area with lot of mountains. But the hardest part our tours was always the last very steep kilometre back to the house.

We are very grateful for the time that Marcia and Graeme spent at our place. They are a lovely couple with a great sense of humour, able to adapt quickly to different place and totally open to new experiences, all essential ingredients for a positive "workaway" experience.

… read more reporting any problem and solving it, for example when Graeme-Michelangelo repainted some logs on the ceiling. They took care of the garden, not missing even the remotest corner, and they were never afraid of the physical work involved; picking olives was certainly the hardest task, but this year the oil was delicious, thanks also to them!
Even though we didn't meet in person, at the end it is as if we had, especially as they appreciated the simplicity and beauty of nature in our place as much as we do.

We stayed for over two months and had a wonderful time. Although we didn’t meet Mariella we felt that we knew her by the end of our stay. We had lots of communication and Mariella was a kind and generous person.
The work was always varied, olive harvesting with Bernd and Klaus was great fun, we got to pick the olives and then had a lovely day out
… read more at the mill. Other work involved general gardening and household maintenance tasks. It is ideal if you’re a couple who like to use your initiative and simply want to get on with a variety of jobs that suit your skill set.
Monte Argentario is a beautiful place and we loved staying in our cottage, tending to the gardens and we truly felt at home during our stay. The most amazing sunsets from the terrace and definitely a place to enjoy nature.
We loved the independence we had and there was never a dull day!
We will definitely miss waking up to the fabulous view and spending our time outside in the natural garden but have left with such warm and at times funny memories of our time spent here.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

During her stay (only one week, too short!) we appreciated a lot her ability to adapt to new situations and new people, her eagerness to help and most of all her wonderful yoga lessons, which were the highlights of the day. Having the chance of teaching yoga is a great experience, but doing it in a wonderful environment with a gentle soul is priceless!!!
I stayed at Mariella's place for one week.(end of July,beginning of August).
Since I decided to travel by train, I really appreciated her hospitality from the very beginning of my journey. She picked me up at the
… read more train station, showed me interesting places around, nice walks, beaches, and hills. Moreover, she invited me to join her and her friends when she hosted people, making me feel part of the "group" and always very welcome.
Her property is really beautiful, with olive trees and very comfortable accommodation. There's also an "en plein air" shower outside (extra shower working with filtered recycling system, but I won't spoil anything... she really cares about the environment) and, last but not least, a marvelous sea view that you can also enjoy if you decide to walk to the beach. (In my opinion, the walk is not as tough as described).

Den Monat Juni verbrachten wir in einer wunderschönen Gegend und auf dem schönen Anwesen, wofür wir sehr dankbar sind. Maria war sehr hilfsbereit und gastfreundlich, als wir nach zwei Reisetagen ankamen. Unsere Aufgabe war es, einen großen Naturgarten in Ordnung zu halten, wir haben nicht alles geschafft, aber ich denke, der nächste „Workawayer“
… read more wird es etwas einfacher haben. Wir hatten viel Platz zum Wohnen, nur die Dusche war sehr klein, aber im Sommer kann man die Außendusche benutzen. Es ist auch nützlich, ein eigenes Auto zu haben, da die Straße steil ist und man zum Einkaufen nach Porto Santo Stefano oder Orbetello fahren muss. … read more the Orbetello lagoon as far as the Pineta della Spiaggia della Feniglia on one side and the coast of Porto Santo Stefano on the other. The silent place fascinated us with the sea sounds of seagulls and fiery red sunsets. The detached house that welcomed us is cosy and has a pergola with a wisteria that we saw in bloom, where you can have lunch and linger for relaxation and meditation (with very comfortable tables, chairs and deckchairs). Mariella was always in touch with us by phone and we talked constantly agreeing on the tasks needed to maintain the garden and the little house where we lived. We had moments of help and relaxation which we organised ourselves. … read more old furniture, removed the dark paint from an old wooden chest and given it a new lease of life, repaired the upholstery on a sofa, built a new clothes rail and rearranged the furniture in the house to make it more comfortable. In the garden they cleared many areas of weeds, planted new plants from cuttings (hortensia, which we didn't have), installed solar lights and built two bird houses, the nature around the house is now much happier than ever!
