  Welcome to our English learning community based in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia.
  
  Our centre focuses on helping kindergarten and elementary school students build confidence and fluency in English through engaging, communicative, and creative learning activities.
  
  We believe education should be meaningful, joyful, and empowering — and that’s what we try to create every day at the learning centre.
  
  We take pride in creating a warm and supportive environment where everyone feels like family. Our place is located in Bekasi City, West Java, a lively suburban area just outside Jakarta. It’s a great blend of local culture and modern life — safe, friendly, and full of welcoming people. Volunteers will enjoy the chance to experience authentic Indonesian daily life, try local food, and easily connect with our community.
  
  Our team consists of passionate local teachers and coordinators who dedicate their time to helping children grow in confidence and communication skills. We’re a close-knit group — from teachers who design creative English lessons to assistants who prepare classroom materials and organize fun learning activities. Everyone works together with a shared goal: to make learning English enjoyable and meaningful for our students.
  
  We love seeing how volunteers bring their energy, stories, and cultural perspectives into the classroom. You’ll be part of a caring team that values collaboration and cross-cultural friendship.   At our learning centre, cultural exchange is at the heart of what we do. Our students love meeting people from different countries, hearing new accents, and learning about life beyond Indonesia. For volunteers, this is a unique chance to become part of a local educational community while experiencing everyday Indonesian culture up close.
  
  We often organize interactive activities such as cultural sharing sessions, English clubs, storytelling days, and small community gatherings. Workawayers are welcome to share about their country, language, and traditions — kids are always excited to learn new songs, games, or simple greetings from abroad! Outside the classroom, volunteers can join our teachers and staff for local food experiences, visits to nearby markets, or short weekend trips to explore traditional areas around Bekasi and Jakarta.
  
  In return, we’re happy to share our own language, customs, and lifestyle. You’ll learn basic Bahasa Indonesia, enjoy authentic home-cooked meals, and discover how local communities value togetherness, respect, and learning.
  
  By hosting people from different cultures, we hope to broaden our students’ horizons and help them see that English is more than just a subject — it’s a bridge that connects people around the world. For us as hosts, every volunteer brings a new story, a new perspective, and inspiration that helps us continue growing as a community.

  Ayuda

  We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring volunteers who enjoy working with children and are passionate about education. At the learning centre, you’ll mainly help with English learning activities for kindergarten and elementary school students (ages 5–12).
  
  Your tasks may include:
  
  * Assisting teachers during classes by helping students practice speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  * Leading fun and interactive sessions such as games, songs, storytelling, or simple cultural sharing activities.
  * Helping to prepare or create teaching materials (flashcards, posters, worksheets, etc.).
  * Encouraging students to use English in real situations and build confidence through conversation.
  
  You don’t need to be a professional teacher — what matters most is your positive attitude, patience, and willingness to engage.
  
  We’ll be working together as a team. Local teachers will guide you, and there’s plenty of room for sharing skills and ideas. If you have experience in teaching, art, storytelling, or even using music and games for learning, we’d love for you to share it with us!
  
  This is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge — you’ll teach children English while also learning about Indonesian culture, language, and education in a real community setting.

  Language exchange is one of the most meaningful parts of volunteering at the learning centre. Since English is not our students’ first language, volunteers play an important role in helping them experience English in a natural and fun way. You’ll get to interact directly with kids who are eager to listen, speak, and learn — not from a textbook, but through real conversation with you. In return, our teachers and staff will be happy to help you learn Bahasa Indonesia. We love doing informal language swaps — you can teach us simple English expressions, and we’ll teach you how to say everyday Indonesian phrases. Many volunteers pick up conversational Bahasa Indonesia in just a few weeks! Beyond the classroom, this exchange continues naturally. You’ll chat with locals at the market, learn how to order food, and maybe even try some Indonesian slang with our students. It’s a friendly, immersive environment where you can improve your teaching confidence while developing your own language skills. We believe that learning each other’s languages is more than communication — it’s about building friendship, respect, and understanding between cultures. At the learning centre, you’ll not only teach English but also grow as a global communicator.

  Alojamiento

  Workawayers will stay with us in our house where we have provided a clean, comfortable, and secure place to stay for our volunteers, located close to the learning centre.
  
  Volunteers will have their own private room, equipped with basic furniture, an air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. The bathroom is shared and kept clean regularly. Laundry facilities are available nearby, and the area is safe with friendly neighbors.
  
  For meals, we usually offer two to three meals per day — traditional Indonesian home-cooked food like rice, vegetables, chicken, eggs, noodles, and fresh fruits. Volunteers are also welcome to cook or try local food stalls within walking distance.
  
  The learning centre and accommodation are close to small shops, local markets, making it easy for you to explore the area in your free time. We aim to make you feel at home — part of our small community where we share meals, stories, and laughter together.

  During your free time, there are plenty of things to enjoy around our area! The learning centre is located in Bekasi, West Java, which is close to Jakarta — so you can easily take a short trip to explore the capital city’s museums, cultural sites, and vibrant street food scene. For a more relaxing weekend, you can visit nearby parks, traditional markets, or take a train ride to Bogor to enjoy its famous botanical garden and cooler weather.
  
  Transportation is easy and affordable — you can get around by motorbike taxi (Gojek/Grab), local public transport, or train. We’re happy to help you figure out routes and local tips for getting around safely and conveniently.
  
  As for house rules, we value cleanliness, respect, and open communication. Please help keep shared areas tidy, respect prayer times (since we are Muslims), and avoid alcohol or smoking in the accommodation area.
  
  We live a simple but joyful lifestyle, and we love it when volunteers join our daily routines — chatting over tea, playing with the kids, or sharing cultural stories. We want every Workawayer to feel welcome, respected, and part of our growing learning family.

  Digital nomads are very welcome at the learning centre! We understand that many volunteers also work or study online, so we’ve created an environment that supports both teaching and remote work. We have stable Wi-Fi available in both the accommodation and the learning centre, along with quiet areas where you can focus on your personal projects during free hours. Our daily teaching schedule is flexible — usually just a few hours of fun English activities with the kids — so you’ll still have plenty of time to manage your online work. We truly value balance. As long as you communicate your schedule clearly, we’ll happily adjust volunteer activities to fit your working hours. In short, you can teach, connect, and create — all in one place. Whether you’re working on a digital project, freelancing, or studying online, the learning centre offers a warm and inspiring space to do it while giving back to the local community.

  While we don’t have a large camping area or full facilities for motorhomes, we do offer a safe and accessible space for travelers who prefer a more independent setup. There’s an open area near the learning centre that can be used for small tents or campervans, with access to electricity, clean water, and a shared bathroom. Campers are welcome to use our kitchen area for simple cooking, or join us for local home-cooked meals if you’d like to share food and stories together. The neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly, with small shops and local eateries within walking distance. We can also help you arrange parking space for motorhomes nearby and connect you with local services if you need supplies, laundry, or minor maintenance. While our facilities are modest, we make up for it with warm hospitality, a safe environment, and genuine community spirit — perfect for campers who enjoy meaningful connections and simple living while exploring Indonesia.
