This was my first Workaway experience. My time with Emilie, Alberto, and baby Liam was amazing! After staying with them for 2 months, they felt like my family and Sicily felt like home. Emilie and Alberto are very easy to get along with- we had great conversations and they gave me a lot of tips on things to do in the area. Emilie is very organized
… read more with her work, and will give you a proper schedule for each day so you know what is expected of you. Alberto is very fun and talkative and will tell you all about Sicilian culture. And baby Liam is an awesome piccolino (he loves it if you sing and dance for him)! If you enjoy working with kids, you will love helping teach English in Emilie's school with her. As far as the space, I enjoyed having my own private room and bathroom. They live in an apartment complex, so oftentimes you can hear people around and dogs barking. But you can walk to the train station from their house, which is a huge plus! I highly recommend this Workaway! Emilie i Alberto, grazie mille per tutto ❤️

This experience was much more than I could have ever imagined. I was not sure what to expect when I signed up, but I came away with new friends, a deeper understanding of Sicilian culture and cuisine, and a new love for teaching. … read more accommodations were spacious, clean, private, and very comfortable. All the common areas were kept very clean. Even though the house is not in Taormina central, I quite enjoyed living with the locals and getting a good feel for the culture: I found Sicilians to be kind, welcoming, and generous people. The beach was a 20 min walk from the house and the view of Mt. Etna is impressive. The children were super fun to work with, and I enjoyed seeing their improvements. The curriculum was user friendly and Emilie was able to answer my questions and help me when need be. Overall, I highly recommend this experience. I stayed with Emilie and her partner for 7 weeks at the end of 2023 and it was a wonderful experience! They were both very accommodating from the moment I arrived and were very attentive and caring hosts. The bedroom allocated is on the top floor, it's really big with a private bathroom too, which is perfect if you want to work online, like me :)

I really enjoyed getting to know Emilie's students, and helping her conduct her English language classes each evening in the converted basement! The kids are so cute and adorable!
