We are a pretty new project (started in January 2021) in the North West of the island La Palma of the Canarian Islands. We are located at 400 meters altitude and having a costal climate with possibilities of having tropical trees like mango, banana, avocado, papaya, etc... The finca has already a few full grown trees and many more in pots waiting to go into the ground. The aim is to become a self sustainable community farm by implementing permacultural visions into a food forest.
We love to make our own bread and crackers, to dry fruits, make jam, fermenting vegetables, kambucha, etc…

We are situated in a very beautiful area on 400 meter hight, half our walk to the ocean. The island has a very mild climate, almost subtropical which gives lots of opportunities in the garden (ex. we have our own mango, avocado, pineapple, lemons, ... and a vegetable garden all year round. We have not so much production yet... little by little growing.
The owner is a master carpenter and welder, a handy all around and has lots of experience with permaculture gardening and has the patience and talent teaching others.
Skills are not important because there is a skilled person around. We would like help with landscaping, building walls of natural stones, reforming caves into usable spaces, helping in the garden, planting trees, cooking meals, cleaning common areas, picking fruits, etc...
Now at the moment, we are putting a roof on our bathroom and preparing holes to plant trees after the summer. Do you love digging holes? Then the is your place 🤪
Also we are making walls with natural stones to make new planting areas. For this we are looking for the topical Flintstone to break rocks and move them around.
The next bigger project will be our grey water system.

We have a natural cave with a double bed (possible for one person or a couple). It is very basic!! Really just a cave ;) The beauty of sleeping in a cave is the energy, feeling of sleeping inside of Mother Earth and also the climate, fresh in the summer and warm in the winter.
There is also a mobile home with a double bed. The van has his own little kitchen.
You can have a solar shower with an amazing view and a full bathroom is under construction. For the moment the bathroom has no roof and we shower cold :) good for blood circulation and skin ;)
A sauna and pool on our Wishlist... but not on the priority list.
There is a common kitchen area with a fire place, oven, a fridge and other kitchen tools.
The days we work together we like sharing one meal, the other days the kitchen is at your disposal to cook yourself. You should organise yourself with shopping your own food for breakfast, dinner AND food in the weekends. We work with Workawayers from Monday to Friday, 4,5 hours a day.
The local busstation is close by, on 15 minutes walking distance. To closest shop for buying food is on 2km distance (walking 40 minutes or reachable with the bus).
The island offers a huge variety of micro climates and different vegetations from mountain peak of 2426m to volcanos and beaches. Many people come here to hike. Fishing, diving, boat trips, visiting salt mines, downhill rides, horse riding, ... many possibilities.

We have a nice little terrace but it has a steep entrance. The place is a 30 square meters.
