What we are about
There are two interconnected goals at our space our home life and curating a vibrant community hub. We seek to create a space which facilitates action, connection, creativity, and togetherness.
We aim to cultivate a space of welcomeness, fun, consent and care. Our community is queer-friendly, and fosters intentional and diverse ways of relating.
Be welcome
The home is a large space with a lot of potential for community organising and collective events. There is a more private part of the house, where the residents live and a more communal part of the house for guest, travellers and potentially you!
It lives through people bringing life back into this old house that was empty for 30 years. There are many ways to enjoy and shape the space. You can come here for one of a few weeks, co-working alongside others, cooking together, exploring the forest and area around or getting active with your hands, creativity and skills for projects in the house and garden. You are welcome to stay in one of our guest rooms or bring your own accommodation, so far we’ve hosted vans, tents, hammocks and horses!
Spending time here
Some days here are quiet and calm, where you can slow down from regular life - and before checking any messages, you can take a walk in the forest and make breakfast with eggs from our chickens, you can even join in feeding them, and if you are patient, they will eat out of your hand in no time. Other times, the house is full of people for a community weekend, a party, pear harvesting, or working on a shared project together. At times you will find hot coffee ready made waiting for you in the kitchen, while kind, interesting and open people debate the latest politics, a recent festival, the ins and outs of (poly) relationships, kimchi making and such...

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
Our household is international and English-speaking, creating a mix of cultures and perspectives. We share a wide range of interests, and while we enjoy working on small and big projects together, we also value personal space and balancing shared time with individual pursuits. We love having people over and creating a welcoming, social atmosphere. Occasionally, we explore the surrounding area together. Many of us also enjoy staying active, with morning runs or bike rides being a regular part of our routine. You’ll have the chance to experience a relaxed yet dynamic environment that encourages both connection and independence.

Ayuda
We’re looking for motivated, hands-on volunteers to help with a mix of practical and creative projects around the property. In the garden there’s always something happening — pruning trees, planting, weeding, or making new woodchip paths through the orchard. Around the house, there’s plenty of general maintenance and renovation work, from repainting windows to treating metal beams and tidying workshop spaces.
If you enjoy working independently, like getting your hands dirty, and take satisfaction in small visible improvements, you’ll fit right in. And if you’re a creative thinker with ideas for new projects, we’re always open to exploring them together!
Duration: We generally prefer stays of around a month or longer. That gives time to settle in, get to know the place and people, and make some real progress on projects. Shorter stays are possible, but we find 4+ weeks works best for everyone.
Examples of recent tasks:
• Laying woodchip paths in the garden
• Sanding and repainting wooden windows
• Cleaning and treating steel beams in the basement
• Emptying and maintaining compost toilets
We usually host one Workawayer at a time, so many of the jobs are independent. We try to keep a variety of tasks available so you can choose what to focus on and plan your own rhythm.

Alojamiento
Guests will stay in our guest dorm, which is equipped with beds or mattresses. You are welcome to bring your own accommodation, like a tent, hammock or car also. We provide everything you’ll need, including towels, blankets, pillows, and sheets. The bathroom is shared. As the house is old, most things are a bit rustic, but mostly functional.
We have a communal kitchen which you can use. Sometimes we have shared meals, sometimes we each make our own food.
We confirm that there are no paying guests at our property.
Duration: It's ideal for us if you want to stay a month or longer, as that gives you us time to get to know each other a bit better, and make some progress on projects. We can accommodate shorter stays, but in general we prefer 4+ weeks as we find it gives people a better opportunity to participate in community life here.
