Hello, Workawayer! how are you? We hope you're doing real well. We are big family with 3 Children, one full time worker dedicated to cleaning and two small dogs.
We speak Turkish, German and English, we run a relatively small 15-rooms hotel that's open all the year long and can use extra hands almost always, so if you are intrested in joining us here in Turkey, please don't hessitate reaching out to us!

Here guys, you will learn how to work in a hotel, also in our free time if you want, we can show you the city, the best places to go and we can teach you about our culture!
It is just 350 mt. far a way from dream beach that's like 10 km long. The sea is clean and Rock free, you feel in paradise.
The hotel is located in Side and 40km far a way to the Antalya Airport, there's a close by Rafting area and lot of waterfalls and just 90 km away from a skiing place, Saklikent. You can do hiking, biking, climbing, white water rafting, wildlife watching, skiing, pool, snowshoeing and many other outdoor activities.

This is a small Apart hotel at the dream Beach with pool.

You dont have to be an expert and you can learn during your stay as well, we trust that you will be responsible and sensible towards the different duties carried in the Hotel; The help here is relatively light, cleaning and making rooms and common areas, usual hotel/hostel tasks. Occasionally, we need help in a special work like painting, repairing or maintenance around the place.

During winter we can provide a hotel room and during summer time, when everything is mostly booked, a home Caravan is available.
We have WiFi,
We can provide you with two meals a day, at 11.00hr and 18.00hr.

Work:
Cleaning the outside areas of the hotel, hanging, putting away and ironing laundry, taking the garbage to the dumpster on the street, occasional cooking and handyman projects. I set my own schedule, which worked great for me, 4 hours a day from 11:00 to 15:00, six days a week.… read more Sometimes I worked longer, or less, especially on rainy days. The last week I worked 6-7 hours seven days in a row, voluntarily and of my own initiative, in order to complete a big project in workshop. I worked every day independently, no one told me what to do, which I greatly appreciated.

Accomodation:
A hotel room in the lower level, next to the laundry room. While there are windows, there was no view, which didn't matter to me because I enjoyed the comfortable room. Private bathroom, sitting area with couch, table and tv separate from the bedroom, very small and adequately equipped kitchen and fridge for cooking my own meals. I slept well every night and it was generally very quiet at night. Hot water from the solar heater, but note, the water is hot only in the afternoon. Wifi router just outside the door, so the internet speed was excellent.

Food:
There was a kitchen with a well-stocked fridge and cupboard snear the pool. I took whatever I needed and prepared my meals in my room. Occassionally the hosts, Ibrahim and Selma, would bring me fruits, which I greatly appreciated. If there was anything else I wanted, I walked 30 minutes to a supermarket or produce shop to buy other fruits which I liked, such as persimmons. There is the option of taking meals from the hotel, at 11:00 and 18:00, but I preferred to prepare my own meals and eat privately in my room. The first day I did take meals from the hotel and ate with the others, but decided on the second day to eat privately, as I found the Turkish eating culture uncivilized, messy and inconsiderate, with food scattered around the table and falling on the floor. The men would eat quickly, make a mess on the table and floor with bits of food, then rush outside to smoke, leaving everything on the table for others (who?) to clean up. Worst yet, they would smoke at the table, even while others were still eating. The men would smoke everywhere and seemingly constantly, which I found very disrepectful and disgusting.

Hosts and co-workers:
Ibrahim and Selma were good hosts. They speak Turkish, English and German and were pleasant and friendly. I didn't see Ibrahim very often, as he was away frequently, so I interacted and spoke more with Selma. The co-workers were also pleasant and friendly, although I didn't spend my free time with them in the communal area next to the kitchen because they were all smokers and, of course, would smoke constantly.

Side and neighborhood:
I really liked Side. Fortunately I was there in the low-season, so there were very few tourists. I can imagine it would be crazy during the high season from June to September. The beach was great with a very long promenade. In some spots it was dirty (mostly plastic trash) and rocky, in others clean and with soft sand. I spend hours at the beach walking and petting the numerous cats on the promenade. The sunsets were fantastic! Getting to the hotel from Antalya airport and back was easy and inexpensive, with a direkt shuttle bus, which can be booked and paid for online. Cost: 10 Euros or 330 Lira each way.

Conclusion:
I give five-stars, but it was not a five-star experience. The constant, inconsiderate smoking (sometimes in my face), by the employees and the hotel guests, was unpleasant. Hotel guests and men working at a nearby hotel would carelessly and lazily throw garbage on the parking area in front of the hotel. I was the only one who collected and disposed of the garbage. In addition, I found the hosts, Ibrahim and Selma, to be a bit too passive and unfocused in the hotel management, allowing the employees to be undisciplined, taking frequent (too many) breaks. Nevertheless, despite the problems, I departed happy and satisfied, though with the impression that I was there too long. A month would have been sufficient.

We hosted Agustin for about 2 months, he's been an excellent help, always smiling and willing to work without complains. Basically we left him in charge of the Bar and guests, he took care of cooking, drinks and cleaning. Honesty we've been very happy with Agustin's visit to this hotel. You have open doors in case you want to return one day!
