It is located right in the middle of the island making it perfect for day trips around Ilha de Santa Catarina.
The town itself is also very pretty with a number of good cheap per kilo restaurants and bars. My favorite being the truck stop.
You can walk without difficulty to the beach and the buses are cheap and reliable to get around the whole Island.
