Descripción
We are an English family of 6. Children are two boys and two girls. We have three dogs and 4 cats . We are surrounded by beautiful woodland and fantastic big views. We accommodate guests in our house truck that we used to use for festivals. It a 7 minute walk away from where we live .
Now we have planted the trees, end of last year it's just maintenance work on the plantation and other odd jobs .

We need help with our new truffle plantation. Weeding around the trees is needed. We have 240 of them. We may have other tasks too. Sometimes you would eat with us and sometimes we will provide you with food to sort yourselves out. We are quite easygoing.

Half an hr from beautiful beaches. Woodland walks on your doorstep. Picos de Europa one hour away. Rock climbing, fishing, cannuing, great food and the amazing Asturian tradition of Cider drinking which is arguably the most flamboyant way of drinking in the world.

Adam, Naomi, and the whole family were amazing hosts! I felt welcome the moment I met them :)

After originally scheduling one week, I stayed an additional week, and enjoyed every day.

The work was simple, sometimes laboriously demanding. However, it was a casual four hours or so with a tea break in-between, which was nice. Whether out in the… read more fields with Adam and the dogs, or at the current barn build-site, there was plenty to keep us busy. Adam is also very knowledgeable about mycology, teas, the Asturias region, and eco-planning/ building, while providing a very relaxed and friendly manner.

When I arrived, I realized I did not have the appropriate attire for the environment or work (a lack of wellies, work pants, winter temperatures, etc...). Before I could even begin to worry, it was Naomi to the rescue! Despite the sometimes hectic moments, Naomi was able to keep the prize in site, and always had a handle on the situation. They provided me with previous clothes and boots for the work and we made a trip to town for some warmer clothes. Naomi also cooks amazing dishes that I feel get under-appreciated by her kids by the speed in which they inhale the food (or maybe that's a sign of how much they also enjoy it)!

The truck where you stay is comfortably situated, although it was recently moved, so during my time there was no current running water (something I'm sure will be returned in the near future), although the hose was right next to the truck. A fire burning iron stove inside keeps away the cold at nights. The compost toilet is also close by, but be sure to bring a torch if heading out at night, because the area gets quite dark at night, since this is a secluded spot, maybe a quarter - half a mile away from the main house. I found the space very relaxing, but others might not find it so, so be aware of your personality. That being said, besides the family lunch at 14, you are welcome to swing by in the evenings to talk, watch a film, or simply hang out. Also note that any electronics requiring anything other than a USB port will need to be charged at the main house.

Evenings with Adam, Naomi, and their friends were great. You get the chance to meet some very friendly and outgoing people, all who welcome you instantly. We went out sometimes into the various surrounding villages for meals. The food and drink are great, I was never hungry or thirsty :)

I'm sure I am missing some things, but I wanted to finally thank Adam & Naomi for the wonderful experience and warm home and hearts they opened for me during my stay here. I would gladly visit again soon, especially once the truffles are harvested :)

A very lovely time i had with Naomi, Adam and their children during my week on the trufflefarm. Good loving people to be with and share some physical work in the field with collecting the grass and demolishing a porch. On a beautiful spot near Infiesto. I,d love to come back a time. With love!
