Hi everyone, I am Verena and live with my daughter (10) in a flat in Esslingen in southwest Germany.
We are active workawayers ourselves, but can not travel that much this year, that's why we would like to invite the world to us.
We are looking for English speaking solo travelling females or moms with their children (above approx. six years old) who would like to stay with us for a while (maybe one or two weeks to start with).
You and your kids should be fluent in English.
I work part-time and my daughter attends a democratic school half day.
We love playing, nature, sports (swimming, surfing, snowboarding, running, biking...), eating healthy, reading, movies, being with our extended family and also travelling & meeting new people.
I eat vegetarian or vegan and I'm very interested in sustainable living and minimalism.
This is a smoke and alcohol (and other drugs) free household and we usually go to bed before ten.
In our family we practice unconditional parenting which means no punishment, no rewards, equality and considering each other's opinions and perspective regardless of age.

You can participate in the life of a German family, we can show you the medieval town of Esslingen, many sights in Stuttgart and other towns nearby. We can do outdoor activities with you, e.g. going to the swimming pool/forest/park/castles....
I'm very interested in sustainable living and minimalism, so I could share some knowledge
My daughter would be very happy to meet and play with your child/ren.
We are looking for companions and are hoping to make new friendships.

Small bedroom with queensize bed.
If you are travelling with kids you can also stay in the living room, which has a queensize couch and we could add matresses on the floor. The living room would be yours in the evening and at night.
Basic breakfast, lunch and supper included.

We live in a small appartment about 15 min. walking distance from the citycentre with a small park/playground right in front of the house. You don't need a car here, everything can be reached by foot/bike/bus/train.
Stuttgart airport is 30 minutes by bus or 20 minutes by car.
Esslingen train station is 10 minutes on foot.
Munich is 2,5 hours by train.

Lilian stayed with us last year in autumn and we had a great time. Her main task was speaking English with us and we had the most interesting conversations about all sorts of topics, some of which had a lasting positive effect on me (for example music and literature wise). It was inspiring to hear her points… read more
She helped with various tasks, accompanied us on day trips and we had great conversations (if I wasn't too tired ;)
