Ballarat is an old gold mining town with many heritage buildings. It is only an hour from Melbourne by train. My house is heritage frontage listed and was built in 1889. It has balonies with iron lace.

Penny was a great host. She picked me up at the train station and hosted me for my first week in Ballarat.
The tasks were fun and I think I really could help all around the house. She explained all the tasks very well, so I could handle it easily. We had very interesting talks about all kinds of topics and her knowledge is stunning.

We stayed with Penny for 1 week & enjoyed the time. Penny is a well-travelled entomologist who has a lot of interesting stories to tell. The work was mainly helping in the house & general maintenance & not that much gardening since the last workawayer already fulfilled this task. Penny's house is quite big - so there's always something to do.

I spent a very happy 9 days here with Penny, the work tasks were simple, and her company was interesting. Ballarat is a beautiful place to spend time, and everything is within walking distance.
