Paulina is a delightful and very helpul young woman. She loves gardening and plants and flowers; and loves cooking too! She is very good company also, respectful of one's space but fun to be with if one wants to socialise. She worked hard and I was sorry to see her go. Hopefully one day again!

I stayed at Eliza's a bit more than a week and I loved it! She is an amazing lady, with lots of energy! My first day, after getting off the train, she took me to watch a movie and then a jazz festival :)!!
I was working remotely in the afternoons so we couldn't spend more time doing other things, but we still found time to share some meals
… read more together, have fun at the marché, or doing Reiki. If I hadn't had commitments before going there, I'd definitely stayed longer.

L'expérience avec Eliza a été vraiment enrichissante. Une personne très active, généreuse, compréhensive et pleine d'amis.
Nous avons passé deux mois avec elle et avons emporté avec nous de nombreux souvenirs précieux, son amitié et celle de tant d'autres belles personnes de la région magique du Jura.

… read more promenés dans le beau château et acheté du pain a la délicieuse boulangerie du village. Nous avons visité le lac de Chalain, Baume-les-Messieurs... Elle a aussi ouvert sa maison et Tomi a fait heureusement deux concerts avec beaucoup de succès !
La maison est magnifique avec son grand jardin et ses chimenes :) La chambre avec douche privée et les repas, d'excellente qualité !

Maite and Tomas stayed nearly 2 months with me, including 3 weeks on their own while I had to go away. I cannot praise them highly enough - hard working, conscientious, trustworthy, and great company. Maite cooks really well too (and very economically); and Tomas is a virtuoso pianist so the house was always full of wonderful music. They left

I spent two delightful weeks with Eliza, her son and his girlfriend. I had contact with Eliza prior to my stay via WhatsApp so I felt confident that we would get along well before I arrived. I was immediately welcomed into the home and family. I always felt included and at ease. The house has been beautifully renovated and it was a very
… read more comfortable stay. Eliza showed me the tasks that she wanted done and gave me the freedom to decide when they were to be done.
I looked forward to my morning strolls to the local Boulangerie at the end of the street. The chestnut bread was fabulous. There were many nights spent by the fireplace playing board games and billiards.
Eliza and her son showed me around the area which has many lakes and pretty villages. I was introduced to her local friends who spoke English as a second language so I was able to feel included in conversations. Eliza also put me into contact with friends in areas where she knew I would be travelling in the future. I highly recommend that you make this a Workaway stay. You won’t be disappointed.

… read more number of bushes and trees; she cut and carried our wood to burn in the fire places in the house, she cleaned, she cooked (delicious) and she played games, watched films and was generally a v pleasant (and discreet) company in the evenings. Eliza and John are very kind and warm. They live in beautiful home with a big garden so there is always something to do. You won't get bored there. My 4 weeks at this beautiful place, with these very kind, smart and hospitable people in the beautiful Jura were marvelous! … read more swimming in lakes, concerts, local events) with them. This place is perfect if you want to experience quiet, nature and beauty. I was allowed to use the mountain bikes, so I enjoyed some great bike rides and walks in the region around the house. I also really liked that Lons-Le-Saunier is in biking distance (6km from the house), very nice place to explore. The Jura is much more beautiful than I knew and the house and garden are great, so you will have a fantastic time here. With regards to the work; I did a lot of weeding, tidying up and watering the garden. If you have a good basic condition, are not afraid to sweat and get your hands dirty, have a good sense of responsibility and are a quite autonomous person, this is a great place to work.
