There is a great abundance of nature around, rivers and small towns with a mix of Portuguese locals and people from all over the world.
You must have your own Vehicle, public transport is limited but there are a few buses to Gois , Arganil , Lousa and Coimbra.Ajuda

There are private quarters below the main house which have a large double bed, living room and kitchen with electric oven/gas hob/fridge. Plus your own private bathroom with shower.
The rooms open out onto a small courtyard, with a studio space/garden room .
The property is surrounded by a garden with a fruit tree orchard , small vegetable garden and access to a river which is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.
Keeping an eye on these spaces and general upkeep would be part of the deal.Algo mais...
As mentioned before, you will need your own vehicle.
Our home is on the edge of a very small village with a bar just at the top on the main road about a 5 minute walk.
The larger village ( Vila Nova do Ceira) has a small but well stocked supermarket, cash point, butcher, pharmacy, petrol station which also sells agricultural supplies including a mini hardware store, and 2 cafe /bars .
Gois and Lousa are larger towns nearby.
There are many beautiful River Beaches (Praia Fluvial) in the surrounding area. The Gois Area is very green and verdant due to the rivers coming from the mountains.
We are around a 40 minute drive from the city of Coimbra ,famous for its university and boasting many city tourist and cultural attractions with main train and bus stations.
There are other nearby towns but it is very much a rural, peaceful stay as apposed to people who want a busy night life exchange opportunity.
Due to this, this position may be better suited to couples who need time to focus on their own projects while helping us with ours, however we are not apposed to younger singles if the right, respectful and responsible candidate came along :) and or older people who want a quieter life.Mais alguns detalhes

We knew that he was the right person to look after our place and our cats while we were away . He is honest and trustworthy and was ready for a last minute stay . Very reliable and friendly.
We have now been back several times to stay and help with various tasks and think of them firmly as friends.
We cannot speak highly enough of the both of them and we feel truly honoured to have been welcomed in to look… read more
